00:00Ah, bueno, Mr. Moten, it's Gonzalo, from Spain, Hipertextual, first of all.
00:05Congratulations, this second season.
00:06From now on, it's amazing.
00:08It's amazing.
00:08So, such a pleasure being here.
00:09Gracias, hermano.
00:10How are you?
00:11Bye, thank you very much.
00:13Well, I want to start with something that I found, like, quite frequently in this second season.
00:21This topic about chaos, about rebellion, not only in Maximus Storyline.
00:26I think it's in all the series.
00:28So, how is it going to affect him?
00:31How is Maximus going to deal with it?
00:33Well, yeah, we, you know, in the first season, you know, Lucy and Maximus' characters are just so much being used by other people.
00:42They're the puppets to other people.
00:44They don't know what the head is.
00:45They don't know what's in it.
00:46You know, it's, our second season is this real, I mean, if I may, our first feels like an overture to me.
00:54It feels like a good start.
00:56But now we're hearing the theme fully.
00:58A little bit, you know, we're really stretching it and seeing where this melody goes.
01:03But, yeah, no, it's very much an expansion.
01:07And we get to see Maximus and Lucy and the ghoul, you know, really make some decisions to sort of change the landscape of the wasteland, you know, to really take control of their lives.
01:23I'm trying not to say grab the bull by the horns.
01:26You know, it's really beautiful to see this sort of expansion happen in our second season.
01:32Yeah, I agree with you.
01:33It's amazing how all this is developing during the season.
01:37How is his relation with the brotherhood?
01:40Because he now knows a lot more.
01:43We also see his past, which we hadn't really, well, we saw a bit in the first season, but we now see more.
01:50Yeah, you're right.
01:50We had, like, Thaddeus talk about Maximus' backstory in a scene very briefly.
01:56No, yes, it's beautiful.
01:59Yeah, what was the question?
02:01Ask me again.
02:02His relation with the brotherhood.
02:04The relationship with the brotherhood.
02:05It's skewed, right?
02:09He's, before even getting this promotion, he's hit this point of no return, you know, because of this chance meeting with Lucy, right?
02:16He's, it's like the last thing he would wish for now when it was everything he wanted at the beginning of the first season.
02:21And there's a sense of being trapped a little bit, but at the same time, I think that's more about survival, that sense of being trapped.
02:31If you get a chance, ask Walton about what it's like wearing that suit.
02:34But, like, it is.
02:35It's a physical manifestation of being kind of locked into something.
02:39And, yeah, it's, at least we get to go on this different kind of journey with him this year with the brotherhood where we get other aspects of the brotherhood at the table.
02:51You know, we had only seen one Maximus' faction, you know, but we get a little bit of the commonwealth in there.
02:57We get a little bit of other factions.
03:00And so we can sort of flesh out that brotherhood a little bit more and see what more they have to offer and where Maximus stands with all of that.
03:09I think fans will be pleased because this expansion is, like, huge.
03:13Yeah, it is.
03:14Now I want to ask you about the other important thing with Maximus, which is his relation with Lucy, because it's one of the most amazing, most incredible things in the first season, how, yeah, how this goes.
03:27So I want to ask you, how is it going to develop?
03:30Now they are separated again?
03:31They're separated.
03:33Flip Cungus, man.
03:33Yeah, they're separated.
03:35But, you know, there's – I really love working with Graham and Geneva as writers because they're always making these stories speak to each other, whether we're sharing the screen or not.
03:44And it's – yeah, it's – I'm like, I can't ruin things, right?
03:51I got to tease it.
03:53I just think that we should at least get the experience in season two of how this chance meeting a little bit is leading the two of them down this path that they wouldn't have gone down without having met each other.
04:07Oh, that's great.
04:08That's great.
04:09How do you think?
04:09So now my final question would be about the practical effects because it was really talked about in the first season how amazing this was.
04:19How important is it for you that the armors, all these things are practical, are not CGI?
04:24It's really important.
04:25It does so much more to your imagination to have a puppet in front of you than a tennis ball, you know, to look at.
04:34Or the volume setups or, you know, the fully built out sets that Howard Cummings and his team do, a legacy team with the suit and the Deathclaw now.
04:43The Deathclaw takes three people to puppet, you know?
04:47They're huge.
04:48No, it's everything for the creative inspiration of how you look at something and see its size, you know, especially people part like sea parting, you know, for Moses when you walk through with the power armor.
05:08You know, it's a natural thing that you otherwise would, you know, have someone just saying, excuse me, and twisting sideways to get through a crowd.
05:17But people just move out of your way because it's a massive thing.
05:21You know, those types of little natural occurrences kind of do a lot for the imagination, you know?
05:30It really helps to build the world that we're trying to build.
05:32You know, those types of little things that we're trying to build.
