ਫਿਰੋਜ਼ਪੁਰ: ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਦੇ ਸਰਹੱਦੀ ਖੇਤਰ ਮਮਦੋਟ ਵਿੱਚ 1971 ਦੀ ਭਾਰਤ-ਪਾਕਿ ਜੰਗ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਦੇਸ਼ ਦੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਲਈ ਸ਼ਹੀਦ ਹੋਏ ਬਹਾਦਰ ਸੈਨਿਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਰਧਾਂਜਲੀ ਭੇਟ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ। ਬੀਐਸਐਫ ਦੇ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਮਹਾਂਵੀਰ ਚੱਕਰ ਜੇਤੂ ਸ਼ਹੀਦ ਆਰ.ਕੇ ਵਧਵਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਨੌ ਸਾਥੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਕੁਰਬਾਨੀ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੀਐਸਐਫ ਚੌਕੀ ਰਾਜਾ ਮਹੋਤਮ ਵਿਖੇ ਸ਼ਹੀਦੀ ਦਿਵਸ ਮਨਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਆਰ.ਕੇ. ਵਧਵਾ ਨੂੰ ਸਨਮਾਨਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਫਰੰਟੀਅਰ ਬੀਐਸਐਫ ਦੇ ਆਈਜੀ ਅਤੁਲ ਫੁਲਜਾਲੇ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਹੀਦਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਰਧਾਂਜਲੀ ਭੇਟ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ,"ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਹਾਨ ਸ਼ਹੀਦਾਂ ਦੀ ਬਹਾਦਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਯਾਦ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਬਹਾਦਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਕੁਰਬਾਨੀ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਦੇਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕਰਦੀ ਰਹੇਗੀ।" ਦੱਸ ਦੇਈਏ ਕਿ 2 ਦਸੰਬਰ 1971 ਨੂੰ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਨੇ ਭਾਰਤ 'ਤੇ ਹਮਲਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਦੀ 9ਵੀਂ ਬਟਾਲੀਅਨ ਨੇ ਬੀਐਸਐਫ ਸੈਕਟਰ ਮਮਦੋਟ 'ਤੇ ਕਬਜ਼ਾ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਮੋਰਚੇ ਨੂੰ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣ ਦੇ ਕਬਜ਼ੇ ਤੋਂ ਮੁਕਤ ਕਰਵਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰੀ 31ਵੀਂ ਬਟਾਲੀਅਨ ਬੀਐਸਐਫ ਦੇ ਕਮਾਂਡੈਂਟ ਆਰ.ਕੇ ਵਧਵਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਹਾਦਰ ਸਾਥੀਆਂ 'ਤੇ ਆ ਗਈ ਸੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਢੁੱਕਵਾਂ ਜਵਾਬ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਨਾ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਇਲਾਕੇ ਨੂੰ ਆਜ਼ਾਦ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ ਸਗੋਂ ਦੇਸ਼ ਦੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਲਈ ਸ਼ਹੀਦੀ ਵੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ।&nbsp;
