00:00You often say that the focus should be on the actor, not action.
00:03So actually, my main point is that how fair is it to try to control actions?
00:10Is it really right, in a sense, to control actions or not?
00:16There is a car that you find traveling in a zigzag way.
00:21Yes.
00:22Right? As if the car is drunk.
00:24Yeah.
00:26And you look at the wheels.
00:27Yes. And this is the random motion the wheels are displaying.
00:33Yes.
00:34Right?
00:34This is the action that is happening.
00:37Yeah.
00:37Given a chance and authority, what would you rather control, the wheels or the driver?
00:44Who is responsible for this bizarre motion of the car, the wheels or the driver?
00:51It's the driver.
00:52It's the driver.
00:53Yes.
00:53So what should you rather look at, the action or the actor?
00:57Yes.
00:58The actor.
00:59Yes.
00:59But what if you spend all your energy in fighting the wheels?
01:04That's what most people do.
01:07When this car, called the self, called life, is found randomly meandering and colliding, what
01:17do we do?
01:18We start focusing on controlling the action, as you said.
01:24Yeah.
01:25Or let's practice some self-control.
01:29Let's induce some guilt in the brakes.
01:32Why are you not functioning properly?
01:35Will that help?
01:37But that will take away a lot of energy.
01:38Whereas, a much simpler and wiser thing would really help.
01:45Look at the actor, which is the driver, at the steering.
01:50Speak to the actor.
01:52Engage the actor, the driver.
01:54Right?
01:55And then you might find, that without such wasteful expenditure of energy, which goes in
02:04fighting the wheels, you are actually able to do something about the car.
02:12Right?
02:12Go ahead.
02:15Go, go, go.
02:33Go, go, go.
02:35Go, go.
02:37Good job.
02:38Go, go.
02:39Go, go.
