00:00In today's world there is a huge fear which is fear of missing out and with it comes its
00:08associates which is called a bucket list and also manifestation. For example I have a fear
00:15of missing out of reading on books as well and knowing different things. So how to tackle that
00:19fear? You desire for something only, first of all, it is sensible and secondly attainable.
00:32So is it even sensible? Secondly, if the universe is infinite, is total knowledge even attainable?
00:43If it is neither sensible nor attainable, what's then the fear of missing out? Life is limited
00:54and a book is a significant investment of time. Minimum a few days and sometimes a few weeks,
01:06seven months. Not all books deserve your time. A book can be as much wastage of time as dead
01:19scrolling or any other form of distraction. So knowledge in itself does not necessarily constitute
01:35virtue. Right? Not all kinds of things are worth knowing. You must first of all ask yourself,
01:46who is the one clamouring to know? Who is this so called knower? And why does he want to know
01:56so many things? And what will he do with the knowledge? Where is the urge to know coming from? The purpose of life in terms of knowledge is not the accumulation of what is written in all these books but self-knowledge. Even if you want to know, you have to start with knowing the knower. Right?
02:25You have to know who is the one who wants to pick that book up or this book up.
02:32Up.
