26:00visual effects and all that but this really does feel like a part two
26:04to volume one in so many ways like the last episode
26:08um you know the one that revealed
26:10vecna henry uh number one
26:13that really does feel like
26:15a final episode now
26:16and here feels like the sequel to that
26:19and i really like that vibe i really
26:21like that feeling like the action
26:23packed epic finale even though
26:25it's like wasn't like mainly
26:27action it has this sense of
26:29epicness throughout because this is like
26:31end of the world conquering stakes
26:34vecna's gonna break out and take over
26:37everything you know like that's the
26:39the the beginning of this is showing
26:41nancy like the upside down is
26:43gonna be coming to the
26:44regular down the right side
26:47up right
26:47coming to hawkins prime
26:51yeah you know and and it still feels
26:53like a lot of it is is very much
26:55um uh like
26:57like a setup for what's to come in the next
26:59one so i i get the sense that like this
27:01really is mainly a setup while
27:03there's a lot of you know development moving
27:05forward like the next one seems like
27:07that's gonna be the one that's gonna be like
27:08it's a full-blown movie it's like two and a half
27:10hours so i'm excited for that
27:12and like the biggest development though
27:14obviously would have to be like the very
27:16ending moments here
27:18of setting up that they're gonna be going
27:20the kids like max and nancy are gonna
27:22be going into the creole house and
27:24gonna try to kill beckham themselves
27:26smart they will do it
27:28they're they're gonna they're
27:30they're definitely the the formidable
27:32matchup you got yeah you got the
27:34sinclair's and max going to the creole house
27:36you got everybody else going to the
27:37upside down and between all of them
27:39i'm sure they'll put some kind of
27:42dent in something and you think with
27:44jason and all that it's gonna cause
27:46some kind of hiccup in their plans
27:47it's gonna cause some kind of
27:48interruption that's gonna make this
27:50even harder for all of them but the
27:53biggest thing would have to be you
27:54know of course uh papa finally dying
27:57brenner we'll see about that
27:59no he's really i mean last time when
28:02demogorgon got him it was just like
28:04he might still be alive yeah um but
28:07damn yeah that's finite that dude

28:28certain ways he is a complex character
28:30in many ways and he gets a very badass

28:35desperation and i love the just the
28:39harsh nature of their relationship and
28:41the back and forth between the parts
28:43that are tender and that are caring and
28:45the ones that are clearly so messed up
28:48well he never cared for her as a as a
28:51person he only cared about what he
28:54thought of her potential and her
28:56capabilities and her powers and so i like
28:59that she didn't give him that
29:01satisfaction of saying like no i
29:03understand why you did what you did
29:05because it was thwarted like yeah sure
29:08she is like so powerful and all these
29:10things because of the fact of you know
29:12she really he really helped her hone in
29:14on her potential but i'm glad he died in
29:17a way that was uh tragic for him and but
29:21i like the conflict that millie bobby
29:23brown brings because at the end of the
29:24day that is papa to her you know that is
29:27her father figure and uh so i i appreciated
29:31the nuanced departure of him in that
29:33moment because yeah it is complicated maybe
29:37not as like wildly complex as it's like so
29:40obvious of who brenner is but complex for
29:43someone like um 11 who grew up in this
29:47imprisoned environment from this guy and
29:50then showed that he's not really changed
29:52at all
29:52and i adored that scene they have in
29:55front of nina where they have the debate
29:57and i think it fully sums up where they're
30:00coming from and the the divide that
30:03prevents them from ever truly being
30:05connected is that that debate of no no
30:08you didn't do this for me i mean you've
30:10given me things yes and there are ways in
30:12which you helped me but you've in large
30:14part done this for yourself and for your
30:17need to advance this ever uh warping and
30:22ever festering situation that you have
30:24helped to bring upon us all and even if i
30:26opened up the upside down i mean none of
30:28this would be here if it wasn't for you and
30:30you continually pushing beyond the
30:33acceptable limits and whatnot and so yeah
30:35to to have i thought they did they've
30:38done a really nice job especially in this
30:40season of of really drawing a great
30:42character out of brenner and a great
30:45relationship out of the back and forth
30:47between him and 11 and i love owens being
30:50in there as like sort of uncle in between
30:53all this like trying to keep the peace and
30:56and uh and yeah just like i feel like
30:57there's such strong writing behind those
31:01things as well it's just really terrific
31:03like it's again it's got to be cool to
31:05be matthew modine and to like be at this
31:07stage in your career and still get like a
31:10badass gripping cathartic end to your
31:13character and such an important role in a
31:15show like this and and the bond and the
31:18you know the divide between him and 11
31:20has played through him and millie bobby
31:22brown is just so tangible and and you can
31:25feel all the nuances of it it's really
31:27quite lovely yeah and i was happy that
31:31because i'm like i'm not back in love
31:33with mike or something like that i mean
31:35will's the one who got the great scene
31:36will's the one who got the great monologue
31:37where he was you know literally what is
31:41that psychology word called uh how are you
31:44like uh oh my god what is something with a
31:48t i think transference yes yeah that's it
31:51yeah it's like transferring his own
31:53feelings into this pep talk about mike and

32:03amazing job in that monologue because we
32:05were able to pick up on what he was
32:06talking about but that pain and also
32:07jonathan looking in the rearview mirror
32:09being like god i know what will's really
32:11talking about and and then for them to
32:14show up and just to even just be a
32:16worthwhile distraction for them to save
32:18the day i like i like when this show
32:20does implement that quality of fate and
32:23that felt like that this was fate for them
32:25just to be that one moment in time to
32:27distract like it earned that because it
32:29was like man they're taking a long time
32:30to get there i mean obviously because
32:32they don't working off an actual map here
32:34you know and and so i appreciated the way
32:37that was handled and so for the timing of
32:39them to show up and to help save the day
32:42and for her to feel like really joyful and
32:44happy to see them and um i thought mike
32:46would have been like you shaved your head
32:48why i like you better with hair and
32:51bangs i like you better we look like
32:52will's mom that is a whole complex we
32:55can open up yeah
32:56uh-oh um but yeah five rooms so far as
33:03it's going um i'm excited to see what
33:05they what they advance and i don't know
33:08i'm just kind of like rushing through
33:09this talk to be honest with you because
33:10like i want to just watch the next one
33:11and i'm just saying things right now that
33:13i liked about it because i thought it
33:14was pretty great and i i feel like what
33:17they're doing is they're they're
33:18everyone's like having these moments
33:20that feel like melancholic or bittersweet
33:23and i'm going oh man i what are you
33:25somebody's gonna die one of you there's
33:27gonna be some deaths here and i don't
33:29know who's gonna be so tense yes so
33:32tense yeah and i mean there's so much
33:34about the the rest of the episode it's
33:35like the 11 stuff is very revealing and
33:38propulsive and then you have everybody
33:39else who's just sort of on a mounting
33:41tension and stakes mission basically to
33:43set the stage for the final battle yeah
33:45and so yeah you get a lot of these
33:47moments where you're like oh god please
33:48still let this be the here's my girl
33:49back home moment for steve yeah um and
33:53but even all that stuff like at the army
33:54surplus store and everyone's kind of like
33:56on edge like i i like the sort of
33:59mounting tension that they have going on
34:01in hawkins and i mean for as much back
34:04and forth as there have been about
34:05people's feelings on the russia storyline
34:07like i still have fun watching them inch
34:10closer to the states well what i'm hoping
34:13for with the runtime in the next episode
34:15that things feel balanced i mean they're
34:16rushing to the states but come on we
34:18all know we know that they're just going
34:20to leave all that shit behind in russia
34:22they're going to do something about it
34:23there's got to be something you don't
34:24introduce that and they're like we got
34:26to get back to america i'm like no
34:27they're going to do some shit and when
34:29that shit goes down it's going to be
34:30awesome so yeah we just got to get to
34:32the second episode that's it you know
34:34normally i don't like to rush through
34:35these but i i want to because i'm like
34:38we got to get the whole package you
34:40guys are going to be rushing to get to
34:41that yeah yeah you're like come on
