00:00Protesters in Makati City mark International Human Rights Day by demonstrating in front of the Chinese Embassy,
00:07throwing an effigy of a China Coast Guard ship labeled Bully and Violator to express opposition to China's actions in the West Philippine Sea.
00:16Patrick De Asus narrates the report.
00:20The releasing of dogs,
00:26and the throwing of an effigy of a China Coast Guard ship marked as Bully and Violator until it was smashed multiple times.
00:38This is how various groups held their protest right in front of the Chinese Embassy in Makati City against China's continued aggressive actions in the West Philippine Sea.
00:49This coincided with a celebration of International Human Rights Day where the groups asserted that the illegal presence of Chinese vessels within the Philippines' exclusive economic zone
01:02constitutes a violation of the human rights of Filipino fishermen and troops.
01:29They also expressed support to the current steps being taken by the government to assert the country's rights in the WPS.
01:38Ating itindig, manindigan tayo upang paglaban ng mga kapwa nating Pilipino at hindi in the rest ng ibang bayan.
01:47Just this weekend, an MDA flight of the Philippine Coast Guard and the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources
01:54spotted around 100 Chinese vessels in the Kalayaan Island Group in the West Philippine Sea.
02:01Most of these were Chinese maritime militia vessels.
02:05Some seen anchored together.
02:07A flare was also fired from Samora or Subi Reef as the Bifar aircraft passed by.
02:14Amid these challenges, the Philippine Navy remains on alert
02:18as it does not discount the possibility that tensions may escalate further
02:23while China's assets maintain their illegal presence.
02:27We take this challenge wholeheartedly and I believe that your AFP is up to the challenge.
02:32We are receiving little by little, dumartin na yung ating mga modernization platforms.
02:37Ang problema, yung kabilang side ang nanggugulo.
02:40So tayo naman, we will not back down. Bakit? Tayo ang nasa tama.
02:44Ito ay atin, lugar natin ito.
02:47So pinapanindigan lamang natin, ang sa atin.
02:50The tension is there, but we are not the ones creating the tension.
02:54Patrick De Jesus from the National TV Network for a new and better Philippines.
