00:00My name is Georgia. I am 31 years old. I am a quiet woman. I live with my husband in a small house.
00:10His name is Wilson. He is 35 years old. I love my husband more than anything.
00:18Wilson is kind, smart, and funny. He always makes people laugh at parties.
00:27Everyone thinks we are the perfect couple. People admire us.
00:33But I have a secret fear inside me. Lately, I have started to notice small things about Wilson that do not make sense.
00:45He comes home late every day. His shoes are always dirty. I ask him why, but he did not explain.
00:54Other times, I found strange things hidden in the basement.
01:01Wilson said, it is just old junk. I told myself not to worry. I wanted to believe him.
01:09He was my husband, my rock. He is my protector. He couldn't be hiding anything from me.
01:17But I did not know the truth. One evening after dinner, I was cleaning up the kitchen.
01:27Suddenly, Wilson's briefcase fell on the floor. There were papers all over the floor.
01:34I saw a newspaper article. The headline said,
01:40Serial killer attacks again. Police is confused.
01:45I froze. I looked at the picture in the article.
01:49The man in the picture looked exactly like Wilson.
01:53My heart stopped beating. My hands were shaking.
01:57I picked up the article. I read about the murders and how the killer did them.
02:04I asked myself, can it really be Wilson? I feel scared.
02:11I remember all the small things I ignored.
02:15The late nights. The lies. The dirt on his shoes.
02:20The man I loved. The man I trusted.
02:24Could he really be a monster?
02:27My mind is full of questions.
02:30I cannot believe what I am seeing.
02:33I tell myself I am just imagining things.
02:38But deep inside, I feel afraid.
02:41The idea that Wilson could hide something so terrible is too much.
02:47I feel like I am losing my mind.
02:50I do not know if my life is real anymore.
02:53After that night, I cannot stop thinking about the newspaper.
03:00I know something is very wrong.
03:04I start to notice more things.
03:07Wilson gets strange phone calls every day.
03:11He quickly changes the subject when I ask about them.
03:16He shouts at me when I ask simple questions.
03:20He is moving away from me.
03:24Our house does not feel safe anymore.
03:28I have no one to talk to.
03:31I love Wilson.
03:33I do not want to believe he can do something so bad.
03:38Maybe I am overreacting, I tell myself.
03:42I watch Wilson all the time.
03:45I look for clues.
03:47I want to know the truth.
03:50But every time I try to talk to him,
03:54Wilson smiles and makes me doubt myself.
03:59He says I am worrying for nothing.
04:02I do not tell anyone.
04:06What would my friends think?
04:08What if I was wrong?
04:10So I said nothing.
04:13Wilson's behavior changes.
04:16He locks himself in his study for hours.
04:20When I ask about his day, he gets angry.
04:24We do not talk like before.
04:27I cannot sleep.
04:29I feel like a stranger in my own home.
04:32I feel alone.
04:34I am scared that my husband could be dangerous.
04:38I spend more time alone in the house.
04:42I feel weak and upset.
04:46One evening, I couldn't take it anymore.
04:50When Wilson was out, I decided to search his study.
04:54I know it is risky, but I have to know the truth.
04:59My heart beat fast.
05:00At first, I only found papers and bills.
05:06Then, I saw a wooden box.
05:09My hands were shaking as I opened it.
05:12Inside were newspaper articles and photographs.
05:16They were articles about the murders and crime scene photographs.
05:21I found notes written in Wilson's handwriting.
05:26He had written about the killer.
05:29He wrote about the killer's methods.
05:33He said the killer was smart and hard to catch.
05:38I felt sick.
05:40Maybe Wilson wanted to do the same thing.
05:44I was scared.
05:45I had been living with a man I did not know.
05:49Wilson was a bad person.
05:52Then, I heard Wilson's key in the door.
05:58I quickly closed the box.
06:01Wilson came in.
06:02He looked at me.
06:03He knew something was wrong.
06:07What's wrong?
06:08Wilson asked.
06:09I could not speak at first.
06:11Then, I held up one of the newspaper articles.
06:15I found this, I said.
06:18I know about the murders.
06:20Wilson's face changes.
06:22He looks cold.
06:24You shouldn't have gone through my things, he said.
06:28Are you the one?
06:30I asked.
06:31Are you the killer?
06:32His face told me everything I needed to know.
06:36You don't understand, Wilson finally said.
06:41I had reasons.
06:43My eyes were full of tears.
06:45How could you?
06:47I said.
06:48I had to make a choice.
06:51I picked up my phone and said,
06:53I'm calling the police.
06:55You will not do that, Wilson said.
06:59His eyes were angry.
07:01But I knew I had no choice.
07:04I called the police and said,
07:07My husband, he's involved in the murders.
07:10Please, come quickly.
07:14Wilson tries to stop me.
07:16He tries to grab the phone, but I move away.
07:20I gave the police our address and begged them to hurry.
07:26You'll regret this, Wilson said angrily.
07:30But I couldn't protect him anymore.
07:33I couldn't live in fear.
07:35I heard the police sirens.
07:38They came and took Wilson away.
07:41My tears fell as I watched him go.
07:44The man I once loved was gone.
07:48I helped the police.
07:50I gave them the evidence.
07:53I went to court.
07:54I saw Wilson in the courtroom.
07:57He did not look at me.
08:00He was not sorry.
08:02He was sent to prison for life.
08:05I felt sad.
08:06But I knew I did the right thing.
08:09I moved away from Elm Street.
08:13I started a new life in a new city.
08:17I found a job.
08:18I made new friends.
08:21They helped me through the hard times.
08:24But the memories stayed with me.
08:26I tried to heal.
08:29One day, I went to see Wilson in prison.
08:34He was not sorry.
08:36His eyes looked cold and empty.
08:38I left with tears.
08:40But I knew I had done the right thing.
08:44Life went on.
08:46I learned to trust again.
08:48I still had pain.
08:50But I was also strong.
08:52I was not afraid anymore.
08:54I was ready for a new life.
