00:16Please welcome your host
00:18Hello and welcome to a very special edition of It Takes Two on BBC Two and iPlayer.
00:30Tonight is a celebration of two amazing women who have been at the heart of Strictly Come Dancing for many, many years.
00:37Tess and Claudia will sadly be leaving Strictly at the end of this series, but tonight we're dedicating the entire show to their time at the helm.
00:45Here's what we've got planned.
00:49We'll be getting their thoughts on all of this year's couples ahead of this week's huge semi-final.
00:55Jeanette is here to find out more about our leading ladies in a new game show with the help of some surprise Strictly faces.
01:03And you've been sending in your questions for the past week.
01:06They'll be answering some of them a little later in the show.
01:09Right, without further ado, it's time to introduce our two very special guests.
01:14Put your hands together for Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman!
01:18CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
01:20CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
01:30Yes!
01:32Oh, yeah. You've got the moves.
01:34Thank you for having us. Thank you.
01:35This is so amazing to have you here.
01:37Tess, has it sunk in that next week's going to be your last Strictly final?
01:42The short answer is no.
01:44Yeah.
01:45I genuinely, like, haven't had time to think about it because we've been so into this series.
01:50Yes.
01:51So absorbed by it.
01:52It's such a brilliant series that all of our focus is on that, really.
01:55So I think it's going to be a bit of a shock on the 20th.
01:57I might get emotional.
01:58Yes.
01:59I think we will be emotional.
02:00Yeah.
02:01But, of course, it won't be about us.
02:02It will be about the winners.
02:03Mm-hm.
02:04So that's quite good.
02:05So we're not allowed to cry?
02:06We're not.
02:07No.
02:08But afterwards, we will hold each other very tight and cry.
02:11Yes!
02:12Because we...
02:13Yeah, it's a lot.
02:14I know.
02:15It's so many years, you know.
02:16It's such a history.
02:17Tess, you've been involved since the beginning.
02:18Since the beginning.
02:19I know.
02:20Since the inception of this show.
02:21Yeah.
02:22What's changed the most for you since the first show?
02:24Um, I think when we first started back in 2004, that first series, it was a lot smaller.
02:30Everything...
02:31The studio was tiny.
02:32There was literally one glitter curtain behind the judges.
02:35Wow.
02:36That was it.
02:37The entire budget was on that one glitter curtain.
02:39And now, you know, if you look at the show, the sets have got bigger and better,
02:42and they, you know, evolve with technology.
02:45We've got the best lighting, AR, and I just think it looks so exciting.
02:50It just seems to get bigger all the time, year on year.
02:52You've been involved since the second series.
02:55Do you have any memories of watching the first ever series of Strictly?
02:58I do.
02:59I remember loving Tess and Bruce, and I had just had a...
03:05I was about to say a kitten.
03:06He's not.
03:07He's a human.
03:08But I would birth a kitten if I was allowed.
03:11Anyway, so I just had him.
03:13So I was at home a lot, as you know.
03:15Yes.
03:16I met you with him when he was in Australia.
03:17That's the first time I met you and he was in the prom.
03:19Yeah.
03:20That's when we met.
03:21So I loved the first series.
03:22And then they said, would you like to do the sister show?
03:24And I...
03:25It is.
03:26Would you agree?
03:27It's the greatest job.
03:28It's so much fun.
03:29I loved it.
03:30So much fun.
03:31I mean, you mentioned Bruce.
03:32We need to talk about Bruce.
03:33He was your first partner in crime, Tess.
03:34Look at you there.
03:35Oh, look.
03:36What was it like working with him?
03:38Do you know, I was so nervous in the beginning, that very first episode,
03:43because I'd grown up watching him on TV with my family.
03:46He was a legend of showbiz.
03:47Yeah.
03:48I was pretty new, really, to television.
03:50And so it was quite intimidating to be standing next to a legend.
03:54But he was...
03:55He put me at ease.
03:56He was so generous and just really humble and down-to-earth.
04:00I remember he made me a cup of tea in his dressing room.
04:03We had a script meeting the first time I met him.
04:05He just made me a cup of tea, passed me a few biscuits,
04:07and I was like, oh, he's normal.
04:09He's just really normal.
04:10He makes a really good cup of tea as well.
04:12And so we just got on really well.
04:14We had such a lovely connection.
04:15He loves.
04:16Yeah.
04:17I adored him, because he was just endlessly generous.
04:19Well, Tess, you and Bruce gave us so many amazing memories.
04:22Let's take a look at some of your highlights.
04:24Yes.
04:25Oh, my goodness.
04:26Bruce Forsythe and Tess Daly.
04:29It's so nice to be working with you, Tess.
04:48Bruce, well, I'm so excited to be working with you.
04:52Do you want me to show up and get on with it?
04:55Yes!
04:56Yes!
04:57Tess!
04:58Yes!
04:59As usual, Tess is right here beside me.
05:02It's Saturday night, and this is where I want to be.
05:05Wow, you look fabulous.
05:07Thank you, darling, Bruce.
05:09Oh, sorry, Tess.
05:10I just caught my reflection in the camera.
05:12Bruce, behave.
05:14All right.
05:15Wow, wow.
05:16Oh, that's worth it.
05:17It's all right for Tess up there in her bent out.
05:19You made yourself laugh.
05:20Tess!
05:21She is a darling to work with.
05:24I'm so glad she is doing this show.
05:26It's nice to twirl you, to twirl you.
05:29Mine!
05:30I love you.
05:32Oh, Tess, what's it like watching like that?
05:34Oh, it's unreal.
05:35Those memories I will hold close to myself, you know, dear in my heart for the rest of my life because it was a really special time for me.
05:44And, yeah, I could have had a better dress sense choice, perhaps.
05:48No.
05:49I know that.
05:50I realised that I am from the start.
05:51You looked fabulous from the start.
05:52I'm sorry.
05:53But let's move on from that.
05:54You did.
05:55No.
05:56Well, somebody very close to Bruce wanted to send you both a message.
05:58Check this out.
05:59Hello, Tess and Claudia.
06:01Sending you both my warmest wishes as you step into this exciting new chapter.
06:07Tess, you shared so many wonderful years on Strictly with Bruce, and I know he would be so proud of you.
06:16And, Claudia, your sparkle and wit have brought so much joy to everyone.
06:23Thank you both for the laughter, the elegance, and the heart you're giving to the show.
06:30All my love and the very best for the future ahead.
06:34Don't forget, life is too short.
06:37So, keep dancing.
06:40That's a beautiful message.
06:42So special, isn't it?
06:43That's so lovely.
06:44Thank you, Winnie, so much.
06:45She is a woman.
06:46She's just a goddess.
06:47Yeah.
06:48Now, Claude, you mentioned earlier that right here at It Takes Two is where everything started for you.
06:51What did it mean for you at that time?
06:53Oh, it was huge.
06:55Number one, and I'm...
06:57The gang who made it, we were a proper...
07:00We would howl laughing.
07:02We would do roly-polies.
07:04At one point, you were in a different studio, I got stuck in an air vent.
07:08It's a long story.
07:09What?
07:10What?
07:11It was...
07:12We were...
07:13I know this might be nauseating.
07:14We were like a family, like we are on Strictly.
07:16Yeah, yeah, yeah.
07:17Because you're together every single day and you care so much about this amazing, beautiful,
07:21shiny, the greatest Saturday night show.
07:23And then you'd sort of unpick it and talk about heel leads.
07:29Still no idea.
07:30And...
07:31She refuses.
07:32Refuses to learn.
07:33I can't.
07:34They tell me.
07:35I don't know.
07:36And...
07:37But it was a privilege to be part of, to bask in the glow of Tess and Bruce's show.
07:44So I loved it.
07:45Well, we know a particular highlight for you was your relationship with Len.
07:48Yeah, I know.
07:49How much of a privilege was it to learn to dance with him?
07:52So Len was the most charming, the wittiest, the most humble man, wasn't he?
07:58Yes.
07:59He sort of...
08:01Like you said, he'd make tea for everyone.
08:04He would try...
08:05He was exasperated because, I mean, for years I'd be like, hold on.
08:09So is that the frame?
08:11He was like...
08:12Dude!
08:13He was very tolerant.
08:14He was very tolerant.
08:15He was very tolerant.
08:16He was just so funny.
08:17And he was a gent and...
08:18Yeah.
08:19Salt of the earth.
08:20Salt of the earth.
08:21Salt of the earth.
08:22Salt of the earth.
08:23Salt of the earth.
08:24If it was Len day, we were all buzzed.
08:25Well, as a reminder, let's take a look at some of your best moments from Len's masterclass.
08:29Oh!
08:30Please welcome, Len Goodman.
08:31No, don't get all fruitatious with me.
08:33Oh!
08:34Ah!
08:35Standing spin!
08:36Standing spin, everyone!
08:37Head back, head back!
08:38Don't clap!
08:39I'm already exhausted.
08:40Here we go.
08:41One.
08:42Woo!
08:43Bump.
08:44Ooh!
08:45And grind.
08:46Ooh!
08:47I think you're doing them even better.
08:48Look at that!
08:49And with a nonchalant leg cock.
08:50That's exhausting!
08:51Well, there's a shimmy.
08:52Kick.
08:53And back.
08:54Oh!
08:55Now come forward on your left.
08:56One.
08:57Side.
08:58Side.
08:59And now go back on this foot.
09:00Come on.
09:01Back.
09:02Lovely.
09:03Like a helicopter.
09:04Spin under.
09:05Come on!
09:06Do you want to have it now?
09:07No!
09:08No, then I won't have it!
09:09Come on!
09:10I encapsulate you!
09:11Not again!
09:12Come on, Claudia!
09:14Roll it, roll it!
09:19Oh no!
09:20Oh no!
09:21The Saturday Night Fever, Queen of the Ballroom, Claudia!
09:25Through the hole, through the hole!
09:28No, not my hole!
09:30This hole!
09:31And there we are!
09:33Wow!
09:34Wow!
09:35That man is an absolute legend.
09:37It's just so amazing watching that back and seeing how much the show has evolved and the set and you.
09:42I mean, it's just, it's amazing.
09:43I need to talk to you about the judges.
09:45Yes.
09:46How do you feel about that relationship that you've had over the years?
09:48Well, I love it because, obviously, Anton and Craig have been there.
09:52Yeah, from the start.
09:53On screen with me since that very first series.
09:55So I sort of feel like we've been through this together.
09:58And because of that, we've got a really deep connection, a lot of synergy between us.
10:03With Anton, I remember, obviously, when he was a pro, then he became a judge.
10:07And I once danced with Anton.
10:08We did a little dance for children in need.
10:10And he was, we were doing the Viennese Waltz, which makes you feel pretty nauseous at the best of times because of all the rotation.
10:16And we won!
10:17We won our little dance for children in need!
10:19I love you!
10:20Only two couples dancing!
10:21Doesn't matter, babe!
10:22Don't focus on that!
10:23No one was a great Terry Wogan.
10:24He hadn't practised much.
10:25He hadn't practised much.
10:26Anyway.
10:27But that was fun.
10:28So I just, no, I love them.
10:29I love all the judges.
10:30But, you know, those two, obviously, I've worked with them since the beginning.
10:32So it feels, it does feel like family.
10:34What a journey.
10:35Claudia, I need to address the elephant in the room.
10:37There is someone in particular who has not taken the news of your departure all too well.
10:41Check this out.
10:42My heart will go on and learn.
10:53That's amazing!
10:55Such a love story.
10:57I love Dave Art.
10:59I do too.
11:00I just love it.
11:01Yeah.
11:02I mean, it's weird because we have to pretend that we're not living together when we are.
11:04Incredible.
11:05Incredible.
11:06Yeah.
11:07I love him.
11:08That man with an oboe is quite something.
11:09Just amazing.
11:10Leaving it there.
11:1121 years, 23 series, two MBEs every Saturday.
11:18How important has the support of both your families been to you?
11:22Well, it's been everything, Winnie, because it's been such a part of their life.
11:26When I started this show, I was not a mother and, you know, now I've got two grown-up adult
11:31children, as it were, young adults.
11:34And, you know, it's been part of their life forever since the day they were born.
11:38And so their support has been invaluable because it's been such a big part of their
11:42lives for almost half the year of their lives every year.
11:44That's why I feel so emotional about it.
11:46Yes, exactly.
11:47Because I think that my eldest is nearly 23 and he was tiny and he would pretend to be Bruno.
11:53And he would come to It Takes Two every Friday and then he would just sit there and he'd
11:58be like, alore.
11:59And I was like, he's a genius.
12:02I remember when the girls would dress up and Bruno would twirl them around watching
12:06at home on a Saturday night and they'd put the little sparkly party dresses on and sparkly
12:10shoes and they would pretend they were on Strictly.
12:12Incredible, honestly.
12:13That's it from me for now, but we'll be catching up later.
12:16Right now it's over to Jeanette.
12:19Thanks, Fleur.
12:20Tonight I am your game show host.
12:23And it's time for me to put Tess and Claudia to the test in a game we like to call...
12:27Yes.
12:28Hello and welcome to Who's on the Board for Tess and Claude.
12:44I'm your host, Jeanette Munrara.
12:46Today I'm going to be putting Tess and Claudia to the test with the help of some famous faces.
12:51Oh.
12:52This is fun.
12:53Yes.
12:54It's a twist on the classic game of Mr. and Mrs. or Mrs. and Mrs. if you will.
12:58So, each of you have a paddle.
12:59Yes.
13:00Your faces are on either side.
13:01You're taking this very seriously.
13:02Yes.
13:03I'm into it.
13:04This is a game.
13:05You're going for gold.
13:06Yeah, yeah.
13:07There are two faces on either side.
13:08Yes.
13:09All you have to do is answer the question and say which one of you it is.
13:11Okay.
13:12And we have to match.
13:13The more you match the better.
13:14Oh.
13:15That's good.
13:16Just look at me.
13:17What, do we win?
13:18But listen, don't worry.
13:19Let's do it telepathically.
13:20It's not scored.
13:21We're not going to go to the judges for this one.
13:22It's just us.
13:23All right.
13:24Are you ready?
13:25Someone's keeping a tally, right?
13:26Yeah, I'll keep the tally.
13:27That's important.
13:28It's not the Christmas show.
13:29All right.
13:30So let's find out who's on the board.
13:32All right.
13:33Oh, I love him.
13:36My question is, which of you would win in a dance off?
13:41Whoa.
13:42Who would win in a dance off?
13:44I know that.
13:45Turn it round!
13:46Turn it round!
13:47Why is that?
13:48Why is it Claudia Tess?
13:49Well, because she busts some moves at the top of the show.
13:52When she does freestyle, she can get a bit loose and I enjoy it
13:56because I don't know where it's going to go.
13:58Did you see Blackpool?
13:59We're going to leave it at that.
14:00Yes!
14:01Okay.
14:02Let's go to who's next on the board.
14:04Hey!
14:05Stacy!
14:06The end of the era.
14:08I can't quite believe it.
14:10My question is, who's spending more time in hair and makeup?
14:14Is it our Tess or our clothes?
14:17Have a brilliant, brilliant show.
14:19And I'm sending my love to the whole gang.
14:21It takes two.
14:22Ciao for now.
14:23Thank you, Stacy.
14:24Do you ready?
14:25It's hard, isn't it?
14:26Because it's the same.
14:27What if it's equal and you want to go like that?
14:29Let's go like that.
14:30Can we do that?
14:31Both would be the same?
14:32Yes.
14:33Okay, all right.
14:34We'll keep it at that.
14:35Next one, please.
14:36Same shirt, Jordan.
14:37We're at the same time, really.
14:38Hey, Tess and Claudia.
14:40Okay, so my question for you guys is, who would give out the most tens if they were a judge?
14:48Jill has money.
14:49I know that answer.
14:50Jill wants to know.
14:51Who is it?
14:52Oh!
14:53Oh!
14:54You agreed!
14:55Tommy Claude.
14:56She'd be tougher.
14:57Because I love her.
14:58Because I love her and I want to agree with her because you said there was a prize.
15:01Okay.
15:02I love the competitive.
15:04Okay, let's see who else is on the board.
15:06Never push over.
15:07Oh!
15:08Hello, Tess.
15:09Hello, Trude.
15:10Hello, Trude.
15:11Hello, everyone at It Takes Two.
15:12It's me, Zoe.
15:13I love her.
15:14So my question for you is, girls, out of the two of you, who has the greatest high heel collection?
15:20Oh, easy.
15:21Really?
15:22I'm loving that.
15:23Claude's heels are off the scale.
15:24Do you like a pair of heels?
15:25Off the scale.
15:26I love heels and I don't think anybody will mind me saying that.
15:29So what Tess has to do, I just sort of stand there and don't do anything.
15:33But you have to canter.
15:35She is cantering.
15:36At the beginning there are 15 couples and you can just see.
15:38It's a lot of flow.
15:39And she's so elegant.
15:40Beauty times there and back.
15:41So sometimes she'll wear a midi heel.
15:43I will wear a midi heel.
15:44Well, Claudia wins this one.
15:45She has a necessity.
15:46Who is next on the board?
15:47Oh.
15:48Hey!
15:49Well, I would like to know, but I think we all know the answer to this.
15:53Claudia is which of the two of you do you think is most likely to say something inappropriate
16:00on the air?
16:01Claudia.
16:02Right.
16:03Chris wants to know.
16:04Hey!
16:05He made that one easy for you.
16:08He knows that.
16:09He knows that.
16:10He knows that.
16:11Okay.
16:12And now who else is on the board?
16:13Who gets the most attached to the contestants?
16:20Tasha?
16:21Tasha wants to know who is it?
16:22I think that's it.
16:23I think because we fall in love with them.
16:24We love them.
16:25We're mothers and we want to nurture them.
16:26Yes.
16:27That's what we do.
16:28That's what we do.
16:29We feed them.
16:30We feed them.
16:31We cuddle them.
16:32We were crying about Lewis and Katya.
16:34That's very difficult.
16:35Yes.
16:36Both of you get that one.
16:37All right.
16:38Let's see.
16:39Next one, please.
16:40Oh.
16:41I've got a very important question for you though.
16:43And it's probably the most important question you will ever have to answer.
16:46I love him.
16:47I love him.
16:48Who has had the most spray turns?
16:50Oh.
16:51Rylan Clark, who clearly is sorting his garden.
16:53We know who it is.
16:54Yay!
16:55You do love a turn.
16:56Sometimes I have a double dip.
16:58By the way, I have so many questions about the stack of chairs behind Rylan.
17:03Yes.
17:04Yes.
17:05I think he was preparing himself for a garden party.
17:06Okay.
17:07I'm going to follow that up.
17:08I love him so much.
17:09I love Rylan.
17:10And the final message, please.
17:12Oh!
17:13Oh!
17:14Hey!
17:15It's Leighton here.
17:16I want to ask who has the best Strictly knowledge.
17:20Okay.
17:21Leighton.
17:22We asked questions about Iraq and him about the outfit.
17:24That's it.
17:25Yeah.
17:26Tass!
17:27You know the most.
17:28You do know the most.
17:29Do I?
17:30Yes.
17:31You were here first and you remember stuff.
17:32Like who was in it.
17:33Everything.
17:34Everything.
17:35Yeah, you're clever.
17:36Well, ladies, you have played very, very well.
17:38And I'm going to say you won.
17:40Let's just throw it out.
17:43Thanks for playing along.
17:45And thanks to all of our Strictly surprise guests who joined in.
17:48Thank you to them.
17:50Now, in just a moment, Fleur will be asking Tess and Claudia all about this year's four semi-finalists.
17:55But first, it's time to remind ourselves of all the amazing moments they've shared with our couples so far this series.
18:01This will be our last series of Strictly Come Dancing.
18:04You know I love you, but are you sure you can do this?
18:07He'll be fine, Lord.
18:08Come on!
18:10It's a certain judge's absolute favourite.
18:14I don't know what's just happening.
18:16Who will I say?
18:17Why could...
18:18Oh, not as well.
18:19Enjoying this?
18:20I just asked for the Claudia.
18:22We'll orange you up after.
18:23Tess.
18:24Tess.
18:25We genuinely rehearsed that all day.
18:27Yeah.
18:28This is for you, Craig!
18:29I'm surprised you can still breathe.
18:31Oh my God.
18:32You're not wonderful.
18:33Fantastic, Craig.
18:34Come on!
18:35What big teeth you have.
18:36I'm really hungry.
18:37Ever get you whatever you want.
18:38I wouldn't let you go.
18:39High five?
18:40Tess.
18:41Tess.
18:42Yes!
18:43Now it's time to find out what Tess and Claudia make of our four semi-finalists.
18:56Let's start with Amber and Nikita.
18:58Now, Tess, she came in as a late replacement,
19:01but how impressed have you been with how she's managed to cope the whole show?
19:04I mean, it's pretty remarkable when someone comes in
19:06and they have 24 hours notice to produce a live routine.
19:09And I just think she coped with it so well,
19:11and she works so hard.
19:14She's consistently brilliant.
19:16And I think together they are just...
19:18They're a dynamite partnership, aren't they?
19:20I mean, I can never wait to see her dancing next.
19:22Yes, exactly. They call themselves Team Chaos.
19:24Yeah.
19:25And they're the final couple to do a couple's choice this weekend.
19:28Claudia, what are you expecting to see?
19:30I mean, just more magic.
19:32They get on so brilliantly.
19:34I know I've noticed Shirley's talked a lot about partnership skills,
19:37and I think Motsey too.
19:38And I think our four semi-finalists,
19:40and actually everybody,
19:42they were just put with the right people.
19:43They get on so well.
19:45That's how I feel about Amber and Nikita.
19:46They are amazing.
19:47They really are.
19:48Onto Balvinda and Julian.
19:50Team Ballion.
19:51Now, they've survived five darts-offs,
19:53the most of anyone in strictly history.
19:56Claude, how impressed are you with her ability
19:58to just come back fighting every time?
20:00She's extraordinary.
20:01And I think...
20:02I hope I said it.
20:02I can never remember what I said.
20:03But she never complains.
20:05She never moans.
20:07She's never, oh, poor me.
20:10And you saw her in Instant Dance.
20:11You see her in the dance-off.
20:12She's like, oh, yeah, hold my beer.
20:15Like, I've got this.
20:16She's so cool.
20:17I've got this.
20:18She's so cool.
20:19They are a fantastic partnership.
20:21And she's such a beautiful dancer.
20:23I love her.
20:23I think she's amazing.
20:24I adore her.
20:25I just want to cuddle her every time she's finished
20:26because she just radiates some warmth and joy
20:29and beauty when she dances.
20:30And kindness.
20:31She's lovely to watch.
20:32And Julian, a new pro this year.
20:34Coming into the series, it's very fresh.
20:36How impressive is it to see someone come into it
20:38and then just take so easily to it and come this far?
20:41Mm-hmm.
20:42Well, he's got Balvinda through five dance-offs.
20:43He's got her into the semifinal.
20:45He is a brilliant teacher.
20:46Yeah.
20:47And I think, you know, it must be quite intimidating
20:50coming onto a new show as a pro dancer,
20:52but I think he's fitting in beautifully.
20:54So is Alexis.
20:55All in his stride.
20:56Very true.
20:57Both of them.
20:57And they've looked after each other.
20:58Yeah, and they're great mates, aren't they?
21:00Because they start at the same time.
21:01Yeah, I think he's got great personality.
21:03He fits in beautifully.
21:05Speaking of Alexis, let's move on to George.
21:07Now, he's been often quite critical of himself
21:09throughout the series, but they make a great team.
21:11What has impressed you the most about this partnership?
21:13I mean, I think George has got a great sense of humour.
21:17He loves to have a laugh.
21:18Yeah.
21:19But when it comes to learning to dance, he's really serious about that.
21:22He really wants to, and he really respects Alexis as a teacher.
21:26Yes.
21:27You know, he's a brilliant student for her,
21:29and he just wants to make her proud.
21:32And so, yeah, I think they're adorable together.
21:35Love them.
21:35We've seen so many different sides as well to this partnership.
21:38Yeah.
21:38What has impressed you or stood out the most to you
21:41about their journey on the show?
21:42Well, I love the fact that, like you say, he's incredibly humble.
21:46You know, when I said, you're a semi-finalist, he's like,
21:48don't say it.
21:49That was a bit loud.
21:52Like, don't turn it into a thing.
21:54So he's incredibly self-effacing.
21:57And she understands that about him.
21:59So she just puts him forward and goes, no, no, no, you can do it.
22:03Karen and Carlos.
22:04Claude, she's got the furthest of any footballer ever on Strictly.
22:09Why do you think she's taken so well to the experience?
22:11She thanks everybody all the time.
22:14She does.
22:15Doesn't she?
22:16She's like, thank you for having me.
22:17Thank you for taking the time.
22:19She is so gracious.
22:20She adores Carlos and lets him be as Carlos as he wants to be.
22:25Yes.
22:25And he's magnificent with her.
22:27And she came in, Tess, saying that she just wanted to embrace
22:29the Strictly experience.
22:31How satisfying is it seeing someone like her just grow
22:33through the competition?
22:34I just love it.
22:35Because when she started week one, that first show,
22:36when she did the jive, that jive that, like, blew the roof
22:39off the ballroom and surprised us all.
22:42And she surprised herself even more, I think.
22:44And it was just unbelievable.
22:45She topped the leaderboard.
22:46Then she had the pressure of kind of having to maintain that.
22:49When you start that strong.
22:51Yeah, the bar was high.
22:51So she went up and down the leaderboard a little bit.
22:53But she is so committed.
22:55And she's come back so strong.
22:56I don't think I've ever seen anyone give that much commitment.
23:00Correct.
23:00To a dance.
23:01That's exactly right.
23:01And I love that spirit of hers.
23:03She's just like, I am all in.
23:05Yeah.
23:06And she's loving every moment.
23:08And I, yeah, she's a powerhouse.
23:09She's a force to be reckoned with.
23:10Well, we have run out of couples.
23:12And we can't wait to see how well they do in the semifinals this weekend.
23:16Yeah.
23:17Yeah.
23:17Always exciting.
23:18Now we know how much you both cherish your relationships with the couples on the show.
23:23But one celebrity this year has been particularly mischievous.
23:26She's even spent time vying for your positions.
23:28Oh, I love that.
23:29So we thought it would only be right to get La Voie to do her homework and to look back
23:34at some of your best moments throughout the years.
23:36Take a look at this.
23:37Oh.
23:38After hearing the news that Tess and Claude are flying the Strictly nest, I thought I'd
23:42take a look back at some of their best bits.
23:44You know, just in case there's some jobs coming up.
23:49We've had the pleasure of watching Tess and Claude and our screens together for over 15 years.
23:58Miss Tess Daly and Miss Claudia Winkleman.
24:01When the brilliant Bruce passed on that Strictly torch to Tess and Claude, we knew it was going
24:08to be in safe hands.
24:09All we hope is that we don't let you down.
24:11Oh, you won't.
24:13Where is Susan going on her cruise ship?
24:16Alaska.
24:17OK.
24:18Because I'd love to know.
24:19Alaska.
24:20Oh, this one is one of my favourites.
24:22Alaska, Claude.
24:24Alaska.
24:25OK.
24:25If it's not too much trouble.
24:27Don't worry.
24:28Alaska myself.
24:29She has never been like this before.
24:31Be it with jokes.
24:38Or even rolling pianos.
24:40Well done.
24:40I know.
24:41High five.
24:41High five.
24:42They never miss an opportunity to make us laugh.
24:48Before the Claude-atorium, well, that used to be Tess's domain, didn't it?
24:51The Tess-atorium.
24:53Oh, that's hard to say with a lisp.
24:55Oh, there you are.
24:57Look, now we're on.
24:57We're on.
24:57Can you ever be too flash with snake hips like those?
25:00Touch me.
25:02One time.
25:03Don't you start, Anton.
25:05I'll have your guts for garters.
25:06In 2008, Tess laced up her dancing shoes and joined Anton on the ballroom floor for children in need.
25:12Really, I've got to see it to believe it.
25:15What lighting glimmery like Span Gold.
25:18Nine.
25:21Claudia.
25:22Yes, Tess, I'm getting ready.
25:23Claudia's had more of a journey on this show than some contestants.
25:27She started off in It Takes Two, then doing the results show, and now she's in the main show with Tess.
25:32Made it down the street.
25:33Made it.
25:34What next?
25:35Head judge?
25:36Watch your back, Shirley.
25:37Come on.
25:37As the years went by and the nights got longer and darker, well, so did Claudia's fringe in fake tan.
25:45Brush it over.
25:46Good, strong, crazy.
25:48You all right, Claudia?
25:49Yes, just been touching up my eye makeup.
25:56I personally would like to thank the magnificent Claudia.
25:59Oh, I can't do it in crime.
26:01Look adorable.
26:01Tess has been keeping in touch with us all.
26:03I'm in love with it.
26:05Strictly Come Dancing owes so much to Tess and Claudia.
26:08Claude, I love your 80s look.
26:09What 80s look?
26:10They've been a constant in our living room for years and years.
26:15Their work will go down in Strictly history forever.
26:19Oh, I see.

26:43ıyoruz fun.
26:43Thank you so much.
26:45Thank you so much.
26:46We love you, La randomly.
26:47Thank you so much.
26:48Great audition tape.
26:53We'd love for you to answer some.
26:53Big up Luke in Wigan,
26:54who sent this question in for Claude.
26:56What's your favourite moment of all time in the Clauditorium?
27:00Oh, good one there.
27:01I like the mayhem.
27:04Yes.
27:04I like the mayhem.
27:05I like anything.
27:07Also, I like it when they look after each other,
27:09Because you'll know is the greatest thing is the camaraderie between the group.
27:14So if somebody feels a bit low, when Alex feels a bit wobbly,
27:17when earlier in the series or whatever,
27:19and everybody just goes, no, no, we've got you.
27:21It's so lovely when they're all up there together and they're supporting each other.
27:24It feels like a party.
27:25Yeah, up there all the time.
27:26This is from Paula in Manchester.
27:28She's asking, who, in your opinion, is the best celebrity not to win the glitter ball?
27:33Not to win.
27:34Just watch your words.
27:35Not to win.
27:37AJ or doo-doo?
27:38Do you remember she had to, AJ had a foot injury two days before the final,
27:44she had to pull out on the Thursday and she was devastated and she was so brilliant.
27:47She threw out.
27:48So who knows what she could have done.
27:50Who knows what she could have done.
27:51She was fantastic.
27:52Mentioned for Ed Balls.
27:53Yes.
27:54We've never experienced anything like that.
27:56We're obsessed.
27:56That's like our number one memorable moment.
27:59Ed Balls being Gangnam Style.
28:01I love it.
28:01I love it.
28:03So many moments.
28:03Gave himself in to the whole process.
28:05He was what, you know, the best.
28:07Well, this one is for you, Tess, from Olivia, and she's asking, what was it like to take
28:12the reins from Bruce and what's the biggest lesson you learned from him?
28:15I think what Bruce taught me was that the beauty of live television is just to roll with it.
28:21And if things go wrong, because he was the master of, if something went wrong, he absolutely
28:26loved it.
28:27He would embrace it.
28:28Yes.
28:28Suddenly it would become a magical moment.
28:30I don't know if you remember the Mark Rampakash moment when they had to stop the dance there
28:33to start the game.
28:34Oh, my goodness.
28:34And Bruce just bossed that.
28:36And it was hysterical.
28:38Someone run into the microphone.
28:39He was like, who are you?
28:40Yeah.
28:41It was funny at moments.
28:43So he just said, you know, it's live television.
28:45Just include everyone at home.
28:46If something goes wrong, which it inevitably will in live television, just explain it's
28:49live and just roll with it.
28:50And I was like, okay, that makes sense.
28:52Yeah.
28:52Good advice.
28:53This is incredible.
28:54This one's for you, Claude.
28:55Alicia in Cheshire says, is there a professional dancer you would secretly love to dance with?
29:01Oh, I mean, I would do anything with Jojo.
29:04Good one.
29:05Just saying that out loud.
29:06He's a good one.
29:07Whatever he wants.
29:08Even if he said, I don't want to dance with you, make me a risotto.
29:10I've never made one.
29:12I would eat some stock.
29:14Yeah.
29:15I bet you he cooks good.
29:16He cooks just as good as he dances, I reckon.
29:18Correct.
29:19None of what I said was code.
29:21I meant I would make him suffer.
29:22You have been amazing together for the last 15 years and the many years before that.
29:28Thank you so much for coming in today.
29:29It's been amazing.
29:30Yes.
29:30Thank you so much for having us.
29:31And good luck for the rest of the series for one last time on It Takes Two.
29:35Give it up for Tess and Claudia.
29:43Oh, wow.
29:44Can you believe it?
29:45Well, that's it for tonight.
29:46Thanks again to Tess and Claudia.
29:48I'm back tomorrow with semi-finalists.
29:50Amber and Nikita and Balvinda and Julian.
29:53The pro challenge continues.
29:55Plus, we'll be taking our first trip to the training room as our couples prepare for one
29:58of their dances.
30:00Good night.
