AOTR URGENT ALERT: Abuse of Power — Wilmer Toledo-Martinez
We stand with families, advocates, and community protectors calling for immediate accountability in the alleged vicious attack on Wilmer Toledo-Martinez by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents and their dog in Washington state.

Last November, Mr. Toledo-Martinez suffered horrific injuries after being allegedly targeted by ICE agents in what Senator Patty Murray called a clear abuse of power and denial of civil rights.

This incident echoes a pattern of aggressive tactics. The attack began when an ICE agent reportedly lured Mr. Toledo-Martinez out of his home under false pretenses, posing as a construction worker. As soon as he complied, a second agent, accompanied by an "attack dog," allegedly released the animal on him.

Mr. Toledo-Martinez was not resisting arrest or attempting to flee. The attack, resulting in deep cuts to his side, took place in front of his wife and two young children, all of whom are US citizens.

Following the mauling, Mr. Toledo-Martinez was reportedly left "shaking and dizzy" and denied timely medical care for hours. Even after receiving stitches, Senator Murray alleges he was not provided all of his prescribed medications.

This treatment is not an isolated incident—it is part of a systemic disregard for the civil liberties and physical safety of residents during immigration enforcement operations.

We demand coordinated federal response, an independent investigation into the agents' conduct, and full accountability for these alleged violations. Wilmer Toledo-Martinez's life and safety matter. He was loved, cherished, and deserved protection from excessive force. His injuries must not be treated as expendable or forgotten.

We take care of each other. We amplify the silenced. We demand justice.
