00:06A major incident involving an ICE operation in Washington state has ignited outrage and
00:12sharp condemnation from a U.S. Senator. Democratic Senator Patty Murray has publicly
00:18demanded answers and accountability after one of her constituents, Wilmer Toledo Martinez,
00:23was allegedly mauled by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement,
00:26attack dog, during a November detention. According to Senator Murray, the incident began with
00:33deception. An ICE agent reportedly lured Mr. Toledo Martinez out of his home by falsely posing as a
00:40construction worker who had hit his car. As soon as he stepped outside, a second agent allegedly
00:46released a dog on him. Murray's office emphasized that Mr. Toledo Martinez, an undocumented immigrant
00:52brought to the U.S. at age 15, was neither resisting arrest nor attempting to flee when the attack
00:58occurred. The horrific injuries, which photos show include deep cuts to his side, happened in front
01:05of his wife and two young children, all of whom are U.S. citizens. Murray stated the injuries were
01:11compounded by a shocking denial of care. Mr. Toledo Martinez was left, shaking and dizzy, and denied
01:18immediate medical attention for hours, only later receiving stitches at a hospital. Crucially,
01:24she alleges he was never provided all of his prescribed medications. Senator Murray called for
01:30his immediate release, stating, this should shock the conscience of every one of us. I do not want to
01:36live in an America where federal agents can sick attack dogs on peaceful residents with impunity.
01:42This incident comes amidst other recent allegations of ICE agents using excessive force.
01:47say his name, Wilmer Toledo Martinez. This has been a message from AOTR.
