I sat down with Gitanjali Angmo on The Other Side to talk about her husband, Sonam Wangchuk, a celebrated innovator and award-winning environmental activist who has been detained under the National Security Act since 26 September. The government alleges he incited violence during a 24 September protest in Leh, where clashes led to four deaths after the local office of the Bharatiya Janata Party was set on fire. His wife has since moved the Supreme Court challenging his detention. We spoke about what the people of Ladakh are fighting for, the protests on the ground and her own journey through these turbulent months.
