00:15Fans met Sahara Davenport on RuPaul's Drag Race Season 2.
00:18She quickly became a fan favorite, winning hearts through her fierce, classically trained
00:22dance skills.
00:23Sahara was even the first queen in the show's history to win a mini-challenge and a main
00:27challenge in one episode, having wowed the judges with her pole dancing.
00:31After being eliminated, Sahara released a song called Go Off.
00:34In an interview with Monique L. Jones, she said,
00:36"...music's been a big part of my life ever since I was a little boy, singing in church."
00:40The song was a hit, reaching number 35 on Billboard's Hot Dance Club Songs chart.
00:45Sadly, Sahara passed away from heart failure in 2012, at age 27, according to The Hollywood
00:50Reporter.
00:51RuPaul said she was shocked and heartbroken over Davenport's passing.
00:55She tweeted,
00:56"...never occurred to me that we'd ever lose one of my girls.
00:58I see them as immortal."
01:00Season 2 co-star Pandora Box told Boy Culture of Sahara,
01:03"...she leaves a great legacy behind and a lot of people who will remember her always."
01:08Sahara was in a high-profile relationship with fellow Drag Race contestant Manila Luzon.
01:13On the anniversary of Sahara's passing, Manila described her late love in a touching Facebook
01:17remembrance, saying,
01:18"...it's been a year since we lost Sahara Davenport.
01:21He was a bright light that we look to.
01:22We feed from his amazing light and energy even today."
01:25Chi-Chi Devane first appeared on RuPaul's Drag Race in Season 8, and later returned for
01:30RuPaul's Drag Race All-Star Season 3.
01:32Though her storyline involved her not having as much money as some of the other girls,
01:36Chi-Chi nevertheless displayed ample charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent, carried far by
01:41her undeniable wit and showmanship.
01:43The showstopper gave one of the most iconic lip sync for your life performances of all time,
01:47the Jennifer Holliday's version of And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going.
01:51According to Variety, Chi-Chi had scleroderma, an autoimmune condition.
01:55She passed away in 2020 due to complications from pneumonia.
01:58RuPaul wrote,
01:59"...I am so grateful that we got to experience her kind and beautiful soul.
02:03She will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
02:05May her generous and loving spirit shine down on us all."
02:08Chi-Chi, you used your Louisiana glamour to charm the world.
02:12The Season 13 finale included a segment honoring Chi-Chi.
02:15The Season 8 winner Bob the Drag Queen recalled,
02:17"...everyone who met Chi-Chi truly loved her energy."
02:20Chi-Chi was one of those folks who was loved by everyone.
02:23Kim Chi remembered her energetic performance style doing, quote,
02:26"...ten backflips and cartwheels shortly after waking up."
02:29Kennedy Davenport, fellow All-Star Season 3 competitor, also memorialized Chi-Chi, writing
02:33on Twitter,
02:34"...I love you always Chi-Chi, my dancing angel."
02:37She was a giving person.
02:39She was very, very kind-hearted and super, super, super funny.
02:43Producer Jaclyn Wilson worked on RuPaul's Drag Race for more than a decade, having been
02:47with the show from Seasons 2 through 12.
02:49She won three Primetime Emmys for her work on the show, where she began as a story producer
02:53before working her way up to co-executive producer.
02:56According to Metro, RuPaul shared in 2019,
02:59"...our beloved colleague Jaclyn Wilson has passed away.
03:02I could never express in words her invaluable contribution to the success of RuPaul's Drag Race,
03:07and to all the lives of those who were fortunate enough to have worked alongside her.
03:10Love always, my friend."
03:12Wilson worked behind the scenes with many of the show's stars, including Latrice Royale,
03:16who memorialized her friend on Twitter, saying,
03:18"...it's never easy losing someone.
03:20What gives me comfort is knowing that our beautiful angel Jaclyn Wilson has got her wings."
03:24Cynthia Lee Fontaine was understandably upset by the news as well, writing,
03:28"...words can't describe how heartbroken and sad I'm right now."
03:31Bob the Drag Queen shared that he keeps a picture of himself and Jaclyn around to inspire him.
