Pope Leo XIV marked the Feast of the Immaculate Conception on December 8, by placing flowers at the foot of a 12-metre column with a statue of the Virgin Mary near Rome’s Spanish Steps.
Thousands of pilgrims, tourists, and locals gathered in Mignanelli Square to witness the pontiff’s prayer and blessing. Pope Leo also walked among the crowd, greeting children, the elderly, and the sick, making the celebration a deeply personal moment for many.
