Hundreds of Informal Settler Families (ISFs), urban poor groups, beneficiaries from various NHA resettlement sites, housing rights advocates, and civil society organizations joined the traditional “Panunuluyan 2025” protest held in front of the National Housing Authority (NHA) central office in Quezon City on Tuesday, December 9. The protesters called on the NHA administration to grant condonation and deliver justice, citing corruption-tainted flood control projects that left their relocation sites substandard and unsafe. They also decried the lack of livelihood opportunities and basic services in distant resettlement areas. These conditions have forced many beneficiaries to default on payments and face threats of eviction. (via Santi San Juan | MB)
