00:14Today, December 8, 2025, marks one year since the murder of four minors from Las Malvinas
00:20neighborhood after being intercepted by two military patrols in southern Guayaquil.
00:25In this context, family members of the victims and human rights organizations have organized
00:31memorial ceremonies that include walks, marches and vigils to demand justice.
00:37In addition, this Monday, the trial is scheduled to resume to prosecute the 17 military personnel
00:44that are implicated in the disappearance and subsequent murder of these boys.
00:49The capture of the four teenagers occurred in the midst of the internal armed conflict
00:54declared in January of 2024 by President Alain Novoa and instructed the military to join
01:01operations supposedly to combat organized crime.
