﻿﻿We talked with Jody Dankberg of Stern Pinball about their new Metallica Pinball game.

00:10It's the perfect game for the ADD generation.

00:12Exactly.

00:17The pinball booth at Comic-Con this year, is it an annual thing for you guys?

00:21Yeah, we've been coming here six years with our partners, Nuclear Blast Records,

00:24JR Star Merchandise, Kirk Von Hammett Toys.

00:27This year we brought more games than ever. We have three new titles.

00:30We have our KISS game, our WrestleMania, and a game that we've been making for a little bit now, Metallica.

00:35Metallica game was one of my favorite games to ever work on.

00:37We did it in 2012 in conjunction with Metallica. It features 14 songs.

00:42The whole band has custom speech on the game, so Kirk Hammett, Lars Ulrich, they're yelling at you to play better.

00:49One of our greatest games ever, the art is really cool and unique.

00:52It was done by a guy named Dirty Donny, who's a really, really cool street artist.

00:55This KISS game is our newest game. You can see this cool hand-drawn artwork.

00:59It kind of looks like the original KISS game from 1979.

01:02The reason is we hired the same guy, Kevin O'Connor, who did the 1979 Valley game.

01:06Pinball's unique, you know, it's been around forever. It was pre-video games and now it's post-video games and existing with video games.

01:13It's a different experience than, you know, holding a controller or your iPhone game or whatever it might be.

01:19If you want to pause it, you've got to be really good. You have to be able to catch the ball on the flipper.

01:22All right, so I have five million. You have two million.

01:25So you can have, like, you know, bottom of the ninth big comeback here.

01:28You need three million. This is it. This is the last one, right?

01:30This is the last ball. You need three million points.

01:32Here we go. Oh, you're close. Oh my God, you're really close.

01:38You're 100,000 away. Wait, let's see what happens. You might get a bonus.

01:43Let's see who. What does player two have?

01:45Total bonus of a million points, so I think that means you have six million points.

01:52I owe you two beers.
