00:00The most significant way that ADGM courts solidify Abu Dhabi's jurisdiction
00:05is the way in which we uphold the rule of law.
00:09It is paramount to everything we do.
00:12It is interwoven in our rules, in the way we deal with cases,
00:15in the way our judges are selected.
00:17So it's transparency, it's reliability, it's consistency
00:21and it's front and floor of dispute resolution
00:24and that is what really makes Abu Dhabi extraordinary as a jurisdiction.
00:29There are two ways in which ADGM courts have worked with artificial intelligence
00:34and for the tech community.
00:35That firstly is that we have driven tech
00:38and are now driving AI through everything we do.
00:41So the efficiencies that the tech world are seeing
00:44is how the court is delivering its services.
00:47Very important to us to be in sync with the business,
00:50in sync with our financial services regulator.
00:52And secondly is to ensure that our judges are educated
00:57in where the tech industry is going.
00:59We look at trends, we look at what is happening
01:02and we make sure that we have guard rails,
01:04but not inflexible guard rails that allow the tech investors
01:08and entrepreneurs to appreciate that we will move with them
01:12and we are cognizant of their business, but we want to help them.
01:17We want to ensure they have confidence with dispute resolution.
01:21We are working with the changes that are coming by this common law jurisdiction.
01:27Because it's a direct application of English law,
01:30it means it's what we call evergreen.
01:33So the judges' precedents, the decision making,
01:36change over time as society changes.
01:39So our judges move with the times.
01:41It's not prescriptive.
01:42They don't have rules that they follow that aren't.
01:45So as business develops, particularly in the tech sector,
01:48that's how our decisions change.
01:51How do we make sure we're right on that?
01:53Judicial education.
01:54That's what we do and our judges are always looking for experts
01:58to come in and speak with them about the changes in technology.
02:02And then we move on our rules
02:04and then we look at what division is going to properly manage those cases.
02:08So the caseload in 2024 was around about 310 cases.
02:14There were a mix of recoveries, financial recoveries, commercial cases,
02:21a smaller commercial cases, but some complex one.
02:24We are dealing with the biggest administration
02:27or one of the biggest administrations across the world.
02:29But this year we have exponentially grown in the court.
02:33We now have close to 500 cases and we haven't closed out the year yet.
02:37Not long to go, but we haven't closed out the year.
02:40And what is really compelling in that caseload
02:43is they are complex commercial cases.
02:45So we're seeing the maturity of ADGM,
02:48the maturity of the organisations who are coming in.
02:51They have very, very significant businesses
02:54and they're taking risks.
02:56And that's what we're there for.
02:57We're to help them out when things may not be going as well as they'd like them to go.
03:01What is that sort of change the past 욕구 for marriage,
03:06it's changing lives and changes the lives of people in cases that are going to go.
