00:00In this video, we roll back the clock to a classic moment from May 1993, a vintage clip
00:06where Anderson Cummins ripped through the Pakistan's batting lineup with the fiery
00:10force for 54 in the third test at St. John's.
00:14It is one of those spells that reminds you how understand he truly was in the West Indies
00:19base setup of the early 1990s.
00:22This vintage clip sees the essence of his craft, discipline, bounce, movement and that
00:26never kept a West Indies fastballer attitude.
00:56Cross it to midweek instead of mid-on. Good bowling, 196 for five.
01:08He's given him leg before, hit him with a full toss.
01:12So Andy Cummins gets the wicket of Rashid Latif coming all the way inside of his stumps
01:17and as usual umpire Buckner having a good look, considering it carefully and Cummins gets his second wicket.
01:24This is a very slanting in towards Rashid Latif from outside of Stom, hitting him right in front.
01:35The innings ended when he was caught by Desmond Haynes quite brilliantly in the covers off Cummins.
01:41He made 123, 226 balls, 314 minutes, his first major test contribution coming at just the right time,
01:50saving the follow on to stand for the ninth wicket of 96,
01:55fouled by Haynes, diving low in front of him, picking up beautifully.
02:00Fine show by the young man who'd done so well in the one day internationals.
02:04Cummins wrapped up the Pakistani innings, he got Nadim Khan stretching wide just once too often,
02:09but Khan had made a more than useful 25 for the young left arm spinner from Pakistan.
02:16But Cummins, 4th victim, 4 for 54, the best of the home bowlers, the West Indies elite of 112.
02:24Anderson Cummins born on 7th May 1966. He is a Barbadian former international cricketer who
02:38carried the reputation of a relentless fast medium baller. What make his career special is that he
02:44represented not just one, but two countries, the mighty West Indies and later Canada. For the West
02:50Indies, Anderson Cummins featured in five test matches and 63 ODIs between 1991 and 1995.
02:58While his red ball opportunities were limited, he made a far bigger impact in limiteds over cricket.
03:03His ODI career flourished, and he became a reliable option in the West Indies attack during a highly
03:10competitive era. Anderson Cummins also represented the West Indies in the 1992 Cricket World Cup,
03:16where he delivered one of the standout performance on the global stage. Across the tournament,
03:21he picked up 12 wickets, the most by any West Indian borrower in that edition. Understandably,
03:27his ability to rise on the big occasion. But years later, in 2007, Anderson Cummins returned to the
03:33international scene wearing Canada's colours, adding 13 more ODIs to his name and showcasing his
03:39enduring passion for the game. If you like this video, please comment, share and subscribe. Thank you very
