00:00A well-made song will take you places that you would never expect to go and keep you company
00:21down a lot of roads. This song has come a long way with me. I'm Sheryl Crow and these are my
00:29words and my music.
00:39Life springs eternal on a gottie neon street.
00:46But I care of all.
00:51I spent the best part of my business street in an army jeep.
00:56For what I can't recall.
01:03Oh, I'm baying on my TV set.
01:06And I check the hours and I, and I place my bed.
01:16Pour a drink and I pull the blinds.
01:19And I wonder what I'll find.
01:24I'm leaving lost for you.
01:30The light is so bright.
01:34The palm is sweat.
01:35Blackjack on a Saturday night.
01:38Leaving lost for you.
01:40I'm leaving for good.
01:48Leaving for good.
01:54I'm leaving for good.
01:56Used to be I could drive up to Barstow for the night.
02:08Find some cross-ride truck and tellin' the street's mine.
02:15These days it seems like nowhere is far another way.
02:20So I'm leaving lost for you.
02:21So I'm leaving Los Vegas today.
02:25Lost for you.
02:32Lights so bright.
02:34Blackjack on a Saturday night.
02:36Leaving lost for you.
02:41I'm leaving for good.
02:43I'm leaving for good.
02:47Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh.
02:53Standing in the middle of the desert.
02:56Waiting for a ship to come in.
03:03Right now, no joker.
03:05No jack and no king.
03:08We take this as an end.
03:10And make it a win.
03:12Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
03:42I quit my job as a dancer in Lido Day Girls
03:54They had me dealing blackjack until I wanted to
03:58Such a muddy line between the things you want
04:06And the things you have to do
04:10I'm leaving lost for years
04:15The light is so bright
04:19The palm of sweat and the blackjack on a Saturday night
04:23I'm leaving lost for years
04:27I'm leaving for good
04:30I'm leaving for good
04:33Oh, I'm leaving lost for years
04:38My light is so bright
04:43On a Saturday night
04:46Leaving lost for years
04:49I'm leaving for good
04:54Leaving lost for years
04:59And I won't be back
05:07No, no, no, no
05:10Won't be back
05:11Not this time
05:15I won't be back
05:27I won't be back
05:27I'll be back
05:28But it won't be back
05:29I'm leaving for years
05:32well that would be where you guys first met me that song actually was on my first record which
05:53came out in 1994 which was the last century literally by the time that record came out i had
06:03lived nine lives i had gone to college i had gotten my degree in classical piano i'd gotten my
06:10secondary as a music school teacher i played in cover bands i played at weddings bar mitzvahs
06:17graduation parties i got a job in st louis as an elementary school teacher i taught kindergarten
06:23through six in the public school system and i have to say i did love it all the while teaching
06:28and still playing in cover bands and one night i'm playing and a producer comes in and asked me if
06:34i was seeing a demo for a commercial it probably will ring a bell it's a good time for the great
06:39taste of mcdonald's so i felt like i'd really made it but the crazy thing about it was
06:46that commercial took me 45 minutes to sing and it paid me more than the two years i taught
06:52school so what does that say anyway i took that demo and it was filled with other jingles by this
07:00time and i moved to los angeles thinking well i should be able to get work as a jingle singer
07:04and maybe people will hear my originals and give me a record deal well i did actually eventually
07:11start getting jingle work but not before i got a job waiting tables which is what you do
07:16when you're a new artist so um for anybody who's a waiter in here who needs a record deal i know
07:22exactly how to do it anyway i eventually got more work i started singing jingles i started singing on
07:28people's records and i overheard some singers talking about the michael jackson tour and i thought you
07:35know what i'm gonna go to the audition even though i'm not recommended what's the worst thing that can
07:39happen and so i went and i stood in front of their video camera and said hi mike my name can i call you
07:46mike my name is cheryl crowe and i just moved here from st louis and i was a school teacher and
07:52i would love to go on the tour with you and i sang and then i got it
07:55i'm a big believer in manifesting so um anyway we went all over the world touring with this
08:04huge artist probably the biggest artist maybe of all time but definitely during that time
08:09i learned how to sing just like him she says i am the one so that i could double him i mean i
08:15was so in it and loved it and it was a crash course in music industry and in touring and becoming an
08:22artist was so high on life and then i came home and i went back to waiting tables i sang more jingles
08:28and i got a publishing deal and i wrote songs and i had a song covered by celine dion and i had a song
08:35covered by winona judd and i had ones covered by tina turner but actually there was a night when i got
08:41called to sing on a don henley record that sort of my life changed because um not only did i sing on
08:47his record he became a bit of a mentor to me and he's the one that said you need to keep your songs for
08:52yourself so he was very instrumental in me getting a record deal and sort of getting on the path
08:57i did make an album for a m records and um i didn't love the record so i went in and said
09:06will you please not put it out and they looked at me cross-eyed and were like okay they did not put
09:11it out but i did sort of sit around for a year thinking they're gonna drop me they're gonna drop
09:15me i'm sure of it um and i met this producer bill betrall and went in and we made a record called
09:21the tuesday night music club which was a joy to make and from that record i toured club
09:27and i toured bars and i opened for bigger acts and then at 33 i had a hit called all i want to do
09:36and that is when i became an overnight sensation after about 15 years of really hard work
09:44and waiting tables in 1995 i was nominated for five grammys and i won three and one of them was
09:52actually for best new artist obviously it takes a long time to become a best new artist but one of
09:58my favorite memories from that time actually is a fax that don sent me do you guys remember faxes
10:06he used to call me pookie and it started off dear pookie congratulations on winning best new artist
10:11please see below all those who have won before you and then it was signed good luck don and there was a
10:17long list of people that we pretty much never heard from again so anyway i played countless shows i
10:23loaded in my gear i loaded out my gear we went from a like a a moving van to an rv which was a big day
10:31this time it was different we visited radio stations and we did interviews and we became huge
10:38in colorado in france and and so for about a year we toured colorado and france
10:47weed and wine just weed and wine but i think actually um later in 1994 is when i felt my career
10:56started to shift and it was largely because i was invited to do a three-day festival um that was
11:03woodstock the 25th anniversary and i have to say i'm a huge fan of all the artists that were on the
11:09original woodstock so for me to get to play it i was one of only two women it was not only a thrill
11:14but an honor and also it changed things for me because people started to recognize me and radio
11:19stations added me and tv shows started calling i got to do letterman i got to do saturday night live and
11:25and things really started to change and it was it really was that moment where i felt like maybe this
11:30music thing's gonna pan out after all
11:51i used to ride with a vending machine repairman you said bed down this room more than twice
12:01he was high on intellectualism i've never been there but the brochure looks nice
12:10jump in let's go
12:15lay back enjoy the show everybody gets high everybody gets low
12:23i get a little bit closer
12:37i get a little bit closer
12:49he's got a daughter he calls easter
13:01he's got a daughter he calls easter
13:03she was born on a tuesday night
13:07i'm just wondering why i feel so all alone
13:11i'm a stranger in my own life
13:20i'm a stranger in my own life
13:22jump in let's go
13:24enjoy enjoy the show everybody gets high everybody gets low
13:36i get a little bit closer
13:50i get a little bit closer
14:03i get a little bit closer
14:13i get a little bit closer
14:17i get a little bit closer
14:19i get a little bit closer
14:21i get a little bit closer
14:22i'm so excited
14:27if i can get a little bit closer
14:29I've been living in a sea of anarchy
14:49I've been living on coffee and nicotine
14:55I've been living in all the things I've seen
14:59Were ever real, ever really happening
15:04Ever really happening
15:06Every day is a word and rule
15:10I get a little bit closer
15:15Every day is a fading sign
15:21I get a little bit closer
15:25Every day is a word and rule
15:30I get a little bit closer
15:35Every day is a fading sign
15:40I get a little bit closer
15:45Feeling fine
15:49Feeling fine
15:54Every day is a winding road
16:00Every day is a winding road
16:05I get a little bit closer
16:23Well, it is a fantastic and yet very interesting predicament
16:28To have to compete with a very successful first record
16:31My first record
16:33The Tuesday Night Music Club record
16:34Sold 8 million copies
16:36And that's a lot of records
16:38And so when I went in to make the second record
16:40Anything short of 8 million
16:42Would have been deemed like the sophomore slump
16:45So definitely felt a lot of pressure
16:48Because there's just
16:49There's no handbook
16:50For how to become famous
16:52And there's nothing that tells you
16:54To not take things personally
16:56You know, having critics write
16:58That your show sucked
17:00Or your voice wasn't great
17:01Or that your hair looked like a soccer mom
17:03You know, when you get your hair cut
17:05Just, you know, little stupid things
17:07That you take personally
17:08You take to heart
17:09There's just definitely nothing
17:11To prepare you for that
17:12And definitely nothing to prepare you
17:15For the little betrayals
17:17From people that you thought you could trust
17:19You know, I tell people this all the time
17:22If there was a category in your high school book
17:24That said least likely to become a rock star
17:26That it would have been my picture
17:28I was in the choir
17:30I was like a music nerd
17:32I was the drum majorette
17:33I was a really good girl
17:35I mean, really good grades
17:36You could tell I was a good girl
17:38You can look at my hairdos
17:39Like I had the Dorothy Hamill wedge, right?
17:41I had the Tennille thing turn in
17:43I think I even had the Olivia Newton-John
17:45Let's Get Physical haircut
17:46That might have been college
17:47But, you know
17:48And definitely rocked the Stevie Nicks shag
17:52But my parents always said
17:54If you're a good person
17:55And you treat other people well
17:57And you do your best
17:58Good things will happen
17:59But I was definitely not prepared
18:00For some of the things
18:01That were written about me
18:02In those early days
18:04Things that doubted my talent
18:05And my authenticity
18:06And even whether I had written my own album
18:10So it's interesting to look back
18:11At the artwork
18:12Because artwork, I think
18:13A lot of times will document
18:14Who you were at any given moments
18:16So for me, the first record
18:18The artwork looked like
18:20I could have been in
18:21Better homes and garden
18:21And I'm like
18:22Yeah, y'all come over
18:23And have some cappuccino
18:24Or play mahjong
18:26And then the second record looks like
18:28Do not fuck with me
18:29I'm about to go in
18:32And rob a 7-11
18:34So don't get in my way
18:35Or I will jack you up
18:37Anyway
18:38Suffice it to say
18:39By the time I got to make
18:40My second record
18:41I had a lot to say
18:43And the liberation really
18:45Of being in New Orleans
18:45Which was totally away
18:47From the music industry
18:48And also getting to produce myself
18:51And getting to bring in
18:52My two buddies
18:53Jeff Trott and Brian McLeod
18:55And also working with
18:57A badass female engineer
19:00Named Trina Shoemaker
19:01The whole experience
19:02Was so liberating
19:04And that was really
19:05What announced
19:06Who I really was
19:07As an artist
19:08And as a person
19:09So this was really
19:10My introduction to Cheryl Crow
19:13I've been long
19:32Long away from here
19:37Put on a poncho
19:43Played for mosquitoes
19:45Drank till I was thirsty again
19:49I was searching
19:51Through thrift store jungle
19:56Found Geronimo's raffle
20:03Mariline shampoo
20:05Ben and Goodman's corset and band
20:09Well okay
20:10I made this up
20:13I promised you
20:16I'd never give up
20:18If it makes you happy
20:21It can't be never
20:25If it makes you happy
20:31Then why the hell
20:34Are you so sad
20:36You get down
20:46Real low down
20:50Real low down
20:51You listen to Coltrane
20:57Dearing your own train
20:59Who hasn't been there before
21:02I come around
21:05Around the hard way
21:11Real comics in bed
21:16Scrape a mold
21:17Off the bread
21:19And serve your friends
21:20Just again
21:22Well okay
21:24I still get stoned
21:28I'm not the kind of girl
21:31You take home
21:32That makes you happy
21:35It can't be never
21:39It can't be never
21:41It can't be never
21:43It can't be never
21:44It can't be never
21:45Why the hell
21:48Are you so sad
21:50That makes you happy
21:54It can't be never
21:58That makes you happy
22:04Then why the hell
22:07Are you so sad
22:10That makes you happy
22:21You sleep
22:23They've been far, far away from here
22:46They put on a poncho, played for mosquitoes
22:52Everywhere in between
22:55We're okay, we get along
23:00So what if right now everything's wrong?
23:06If it makes you happy
23:08It can't be that bad
23:14If it makes you happy
23:19Then why the hell are you so sad?
23:25If it makes you happy
23:28It can't be that bad
23:34If it makes you happy
23:38Then why the hell are you so sad?
23:43Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
26:46line for? Why did you write this? What's the intent of the song? And this was a man who stood
26:51for things that were not popular. He fought for the rights of Native Americans. He stood up against
26:58the Vietnam War when that was not popular, at the risk of angering his fan base. He was a man of
27:04total integrity. He was a strong man, and yet he shared the fragility of his own journey with
27:10addiction and his faith in God. But before he would sing this song, he wanted to be sure he
27:14could align himself with what he was singing. And I think that's one of the reasons that we loved and
27:19trusted Johnny Cash, because when he sang to us, we knew that what he was singing was what he
27:23stood behind. He recorded his version of the song, and then he sent it to me and called me and asked
27:29me what I thought, and what am I going to say? I mean, I was just like boo-hooing, as you do when
27:34you're talking to Johnny Cash about a song you've written and he's recorded. Unfortunately, he passed
27:41away about three months later, and his version of the song didn't come out for many years, but
27:47it's still a beautiful, beautiful testimony.
27:52I've wept for those who suffer long, but I worry for those who've gone.
28:15In the rooms of grief and question wrong, but keep on killing.
28:22It's in the soul to feel such things, but we to watch without speaking. Oh, when mercy sadness
28:40brings, if God be willing. There is a train that's headed straight to heaven's gate, to heaven's gate. And on the way, child and man and woman wait, watch and wait.
29:08For redemption day.
29:15Fire rages in the street. It swallows everything it meets. It's just an image often seen on television.
29:35There is a train that's headed straight to heaven's gate.
29:38There is a train that's headed straight to heaven's gate.
29:42To heaven's gate.
29:43To heaven's gate.
29:44And on the way, child and man.
29:49And woman and woman.
29:50Watch and wait.
29:51Watch and wait.
29:52For redemption day.
29:53And on the way.
29:54And on the way.
29:55And woman and woman.
29:57There is a train that's headed straight to heaven's gate.
29:58There is a train that's headed straight to heaven's gate.
29:59And on the way.
30:00And on the way, child and man and woman.
30:02Watch and wait.
30:04To heaven's gate
30:06And on the way
30:09Shining man and woman away
30:14Watch and wait
30:17For redemption day
30:22What do you have for us today?
30:31Throw us a bone by sea
30:33To save the plate
30:36On the way you waited
30:38Till so late
30:40Was there no oil to excavate?
30:44No riches in trade
30:45For the fate
30:46Of every person who died in hate
30:49There was a bone you men of great
30:53There is a train
30:57That's headed straight
31:00To heaven's gate
31:02Heaven's gate
31:05And on the way
31:07Child and man and woman away
31:13Watch and wait
31:16For redemption day
31:20It's buried in the countryside
31:32It's hidden in the shells of night
31:38It's everywhere
31:41It's everywhere
31:41A baby cries
31:43Freedom
31:46Freedom
31:51Freedom
31:52Freedom
31:56Freedom
31:59Freedom
31:59I'm really going to date myself here
32:21But I was a kid who grew up playing record albums
32:25Those big black things
32:26With the hole in the middle
32:27With the needle
32:28Anyway
32:28And I would pour over the liner notes
32:31And all the pictures
32:33And the list of musicians
32:35On every record
32:36And I knew everybody
32:37On every record
32:38And we had like a big
32:40Magnavox console
32:42That had like a record player
32:43On one side
32:44And a reel-to-reel player
32:45On the other side
32:46And then on top
32:47Of like this big thing
32:49Were these big speakers
32:50And I would lay
32:51On the brown shag carpeting
32:53In front of those speakers
32:54And I would listen
32:55To like Tapestry
32:56And Mudside Slim
32:57And The Blue Horizon
32:58And Inner Visions
32:59And Highway 61
33:00And Rumors
33:01And Blue
33:02And Alfie
33:03Burt Bacharach
33:04I mean talk about
33:06The soundtrack
33:06To your life
33:07Those albums
33:08Were my imaginary
33:10One-way ticket
33:11Out of my hometown
33:12Of three stoplights
33:14And a Dairy Queen
33:15It's impossible for me
33:18To process
33:19My life
33:19And the good fortune
33:20That I've had
33:21To play with so many
33:23Of the heroes
33:23Whose albums
33:25I poured over
33:25It's hard for me
33:27To imagine
33:27That a teenager
33:28Sitting in a tiny town
33:29At Blakemore Drugs
33:31On the square
33:32In Kennet, Missouri
33:33Drinking Coca-Cola
33:34Out of a bottle
33:35And studying the pictures
33:36Of like Fleetwood Mac
33:37And The Rolling Stones
33:37And Led Zeppelin
33:38In music magazines
33:40That I would go on
33:41To sing Honky Tonk Woman
33:42With Mick Jagger
33:43Or that I would share
33:44The stage with Stevie Nicks
33:45Or play accordion
33:46With Bob Dylan
33:47Or jam with Johnny
33:48And Willie
33:49And Eric
33:50Let alone becoming friends
33:52With so many
33:52Of my musical heroes
33:54Like I said
33:55I'm a big believer
33:55In manifesting
33:56But I've been damn lucky
33:58And I will say
33:59It's very interesting
34:01To be a working
34:02Traveling musician
34:03On the road
34:04Tour buses
34:04Planes
34:05The whole thing
34:06When you're on the road
34:07You're always on the road
34:08And sometimes
34:09Your life intersects
34:11With other famous
34:12Traveling musicians
34:14And when I say
34:16Intersex
34:17I'm going to leave it there
34:19I've been pretty private
34:22About who I've intersected with
34:25But I would say
34:28That good or bad
34:30There's been a blessing
34:31In every relationship
34:32That I've had
34:33I always tell my audiences
34:34I've loved some really
34:36Amazing people
34:37And I've loved some
34:38Other people too
34:39So let's leave it at that
34:42And you guys can try
34:43And figure out the rest
34:44Thank you
35:14I woke up and called
35:19This morning
35:21The tone of your voice
35:24Was a warning
35:25That you don't care
35:29For me anymore
35:31I'm made of the bed
35:38We sleep in
35:40I look to the clock
35:43When you're creeping
35:44It's six a.m.
35:47And I'm
35:49Oh
35:49Did you know
35:56When you go
35:57Is the perfect ending
35:59To the bad day
36:02I was just beginning
36:04When you go
36:06All I know
36:07Is your my favorite mistake
36:09Your friends are sorry
36:26For me
36:27They want to pretend
36:30To hurt me
36:33Oh
36:34Oh
36:34But I know
36:35Who
36:36To escape
36:37And here comes
36:44The secret lover
36:46She'll be young
36:49Like any other
36:51Until you look at you
36:55Goes up in flames
36:58Goes up in flames
36:58Goes up in flames
36:59Goes up in flames
37:01Goes up in flames
37:02And here comes
37:03Do you know
37:03When you go
37:04Is the perfect ending
37:06To the bad day
37:09I've gotten used to spending
37:11When you go
37:12When you go
37:13I know
37:14You're my favorite mistake
37:16You're my favorite mistake
37:22Maybe nothing lasts forever
37:30Even when you stay together
37:35I'll meet forever after
37:40It's all left to
37:42Don't let me go
37:44So I'm falling on this way
37:48Did you know
38:07Could you tell
38:08You were the only one
38:11That I ever loved
38:15Everything you stole
38:18Did you see me walking by
38:30Did it ever make you cry
38:35You're my favorite mistake
38:41You're my favorite mistake
38:45You're my favorite mistake
38:50You're my favorite mistake
39:11Well I've been around
39:12Long enough now
39:13That I'm considered
39:14A legacy artist
39:16Which means
39:17I'm as old as Moses
39:18And of course
39:21I always say
39:21That I think
39:21The Grammys
39:22Should give out
39:23Best old artist
39:24As well as
39:25Best new artist
39:26Really at the end of the day
39:28All of us
39:29Have the same emotions
39:31It's just
39:31The experience
39:32Looks different
39:33We love
39:34And we hate
39:34We pass through joy
39:36And fear
39:37And disappointment
39:38And contentment
39:39And songs
39:41I think
39:42They allow us
39:43To experience
39:43Those memories
39:44And emotions
39:45Over and over again
39:47And they give us
39:48Comfort
39:48And companionship
39:50And fun
39:50And solace
39:51I mean
39:51How many times
39:52Do you hear a song
39:53And go
39:53Oh my gosh
39:54That's exactly
39:55How I feel
39:56Makes us feel
39:57Like we're not alone
39:58Right
39:58There is a song
40:00For every mom
40:01And dad
40:02Who watched a kid
40:03Grow up
40:03A son or daughter
40:05Who taught you
40:06More than you
40:07Could ever teach them
40:08Which is definitely
40:09My experience
40:10I thank my kids
40:11Every day
40:11For teaching me
40:12How to be a better person
40:13I also take the keys
40:16And the phone
40:17When they
40:17Are acting like
40:19Little shits
40:20But you know
40:21My older son
40:22Actually is leaving
40:23For college soon
40:24And I'm learning
40:25The true exercise
40:27That love
40:28Is letting go
40:28And I'm gonna say
40:30Right now
40:30I don't like it
40:31Don't like it
40:32You might find yourself
40:34Saying goodbye
40:35To your child
40:36While you're also
40:37Letting go
40:37Of a parent
40:38And for me
40:39This is where
40:41It gets tricky
40:42My mom
40:42Has no more memories
40:44She has no recollection
40:46Of bringing me
40:46Into the world
40:47Or of singing to me
40:49As a baby
40:49Of teaching me
40:51To play the piano
40:52But when she sits
40:54Next to me
40:54On the piano bench
40:55And I play
40:56Her old favorite songs
40:57She comes back
40:58For as long
41:00As that song lasts
41:01She sings
41:01At the top of her lungs
41:03And she is
41:03My mom
41:04And we're still connected
41:07Through the first language
41:08That we shared
41:09Music is where
41:10I find my mom
41:11When you're young
41:13You don't count moments
41:15You just don't even notice
41:17When you're older
41:18You understand
41:18That every moment
41:19Of being present
41:20Is a moment
41:21That continues
41:22To make you
41:23Who you are
41:24And we hold those moments
41:26Inside songs
41:28One, two, one, three
41:36Lay down your head
41:45Don't you worry tonight
41:49Can't fix the world
41:52No matter how you try
41:56Give it some time
41:58You will find
42:00Everything is alright
42:03There's no such thing
42:12As forever
42:13But you and me
42:18We've got to do
42:20Every moment
42:24We're together
42:26I know there is
42:28A heaven
42:29Cause you make me
42:31Feel the way
42:34When I get down
42:44You're the one
42:46That I call
42:47You pick me up
42:50Every time
42:52That I call
42:54And will you lie
42:57Nothing else
42:59Matters to me
43:01At all
43:02There's no such thing
43:11As forever
43:12It's you and me
43:17We've got today
43:19Every moment
43:24We're together
43:25I know there is
43:28A heaven
43:29Cause you make me
43:30Feel their way
43:34Feel their way
43:36Oh
43:42Oh
43:42Oh
43:43Oh
43:44Oh
43:45Oh
43:46Oh
43:47Carbage down the space
43:49Burrage in the lake
43:50Baby what a waste
43:52Everybody's mad
43:56Everybody's sad
43:57See it in their face
43:59Gotta have the latest
44:02Gotta have the best
44:03The most
44:04If you wanna be
44:05Happy light
44:06Imagine light
44:07It all go up
44:08In the snow
44:09There's no such thing
44:16There's no such thing
44:17As forever
44:18Forever
44:18That you and me
44:23We've got today
44:25Every moment
44:30We're together
44:31I know there is
44:32I know there is
44:33I know there is
44:34A heaven
44:34Cause you make me
44:35Cause you make me
44:36Feel their way
44:38Feel that way
44:39No such thing
44:42No such thing
44:43As forever
44:44No such thing
44:47But you and me
44:49We've got today
44:51Every moment
44:56We're together
44:58I know there is
45:00A heaven
45:01Cause you make me
45:03Feel that way
45:05Thank you
45:16I have to introduce
45:19My band tonight
45:20Tim Smith
45:21I just have one
45:36Last little thing
45:36To say
45:37And that is
45:37If I'm honest
45:39With myself
45:40What art is
45:41Is a picture
45:43Of who you are
45:43At any given moment
45:44And looking back
45:46On my career
45:47And my body
45:47Of work
45:48I could safely say
45:49It is pretty honest
45:51She was born
45:55In November
45:561963
45:58The day
46:00Aldous Huxley
46:01Died
46:02And her mama
46:06Believed
46:07Every man
46:10Should be free
46:11But her mama
46:12Got high
46:13And her daddy
46:18Marched on Burman Head
46:20Singing mighty protest songs
46:23And her picture
46:25In all the places
46:26He knew that she belonged
46:28He failed and taught her young
46:32The only thing she'd need to know
46:35To carry on
46:39He taught her young
46:43Baby
46:43He taught her how
47:00Run, baby, run
47:03Pass the arms of the familiar
47:09And their talk of better days
47:13To the comfort of the strangers
47:17Slipping out before they say so long
47:23Baby loves to run
47:28She counts out all the money
47:35In the taxi on the way to meet her plane
47:40She stares hopeful out the window
47:48The workers fighting through the pouring rain
47:54And she's searching through the stations
48:00For an unfamiliar song
48:04Yeah, she pictures all the places
48:07She knows that she belongs
48:10She smiles a secret smile
48:13So she knows exactly how
48:16To carry on
48:20Oh, yeah
48:22Run, baby, run
48:25Baby, run
48:26Run, baby, run
48:28Baby, run
48:30Run, baby, run
48:38Baby, run
48:39Baby, run
48:41Baby, run
48:43From their old familiar faces
48:50And their old familiar ways
48:54To the comfort of the strangers
48:56Slipping out before they say so long
49:04Baby, run, baby, run
49:34For an unfamiliar faces
49:35For an unfamiliar song
49:37For an unfamiliar song
49:39Pictures of the places
49:41She knows she still belongs
49:43She smiles a secret smile
49:46So she knows exactly how
49:49How to carry on
49:54Run, baby, run
49:59Baby, run
50:00Baby, run
50:01Baby, run
50:02Baby, run
50:04Run, baby, run
50:10Run, baby, run
50:12Baby, run
50:13Baby, run
50:15Run, baby, run Run, baby, run, baby, run
50:30Run, baby, run, baby, run, baby, run
50:42Pass the arms of the familiar And their own familiar ways
50:53To the comfort of the strangers Slipping out before they say
50:59So long
51:03Baby, love's to run
51:12Baby, love's to run
51:20Thank you. Thank you.
