The protagonist, Metalder, possesses a human heart due to his built-in “self-reflection circuit.” He heads into battle without knowing his own reason for existence, fights barehanded without using any weapons, and even suffers defeat at the hands of the enemy in the very first episode. He is portrayed as a hero completely different from those in previous works.
