00:00Taujin Anki, episode 21 review. Tsukiyomi could only go so far against Mudano. Taujin Anki tried
00:08to be cool, and it sort of pulled it off with Tsukiyomi's Mamataro power reveal. But beyond
00:13that, it's the same old thing again. In the previous Taujin Anki episode, we saw how earnestly
00:19the Mamataro split up the three big fights, and the Asuk versus Ikari one ended up being pretty
00:25boring. Now in episode 21, we got Mudano versus Tsukiyomi, but was it any better? Yes, I'd
00:32say it was significantly better, but that's mostly because the bar was already set way
00:37too low. The series is almost at its finale, and not once has it managed to genuinely surprise
00:43us with anything. It's pretty standard shounen, and while there are a few twists here and there,
00:48overall it just doesn't stand out, especially when compared to something like Geishakuta,
00:53which is also airing this fall 2025 season. Even episode 21 couldn't change my mind about
01:00it. Tsukiyomi's Mamataro powers were cool, but underwhelming. Sure, Tsukiyomi's powers
01:06looked cool, and let me take a moment to explain how they actually work, or more like how the
01:11anime shows them working. Basically, his ability is called Ragnarok, where he draws fortune-telling
01:18tarot cards and lets his luck dictate the flow of any fight. Bro definitely has a thing for Madame
01:24Mayorinpa, a famous fortune-teller and author whom Tsukiyomi is apparently obsessed with.
01:30However, the catch with his ability, which you can probably guess already, is that it relies entirely
01:35on luck, and it's not like his power bends luck in his favor. It doesn't magically turn bad luck into
01:41good luck. If he's lucky, he wins. If he's not, he won't. And in this case, yeah, he lost. But
01:48honestly, against Mudano, luck can't be the only thing you rely on. As usual, Mudano aura farmed this
01:54episode again, proving that even without Tsukiyomi's bad luck, he always had the upper hand. Now, it may
02:00sound like I'm praising the episode, but not quite. Tsukiyomi's power was unique and looked kind of cool,
02:06sure, but on the grand scale of shonen abilities, it was pretty underwhelming. So this one thing that
02:13could have worked in Taujun Enki's favor didn't really go that way in the end. Nice try, Taujun
02:18Enki, but Kugasaki surely isn't dead, right? The satisfying part, however, was supposed to be what
02:25came after the Mudano versus Tsukiyomi fight, because it was finally time for Kugasaki to kill Shinya
02:31and put that absolute evil of a Mamataro to rest. But again, it turned out kind of bland. Surely,
02:38Kugasaki had the upper hand in strength, yet he still couldn't catch him sooner. He actually had
02:43to be lured into a building, and of course, Shinya had already set traps for him. Like,
02:48how cliché is Taujun Enki trying to be? The episode ended right when it looked like Kugasaki was about
02:54to kill Shinya after cornering him in a room, only for him to step on a floor tile that triggers an
02:59explosion, while Shinya laughs maniacally. This was way too corny. Just kill Shinya already.
03:05I'm so done with this. The only saving grace left is the upcoming and constantly delayed
03:11Shiki versus Mikado fight, but that's still going to take a while, I'm afraid. Who knows?
03:16Even the next few episodes might not feature it. Taujun Enki is currently available to watch on Netflix.
