00:00Sentenced to be a hero episode one ending explained. Why Zylo was sentenced the ending
00:06of Sentenced to be a hero episode one masterfully teases the epic revenge storyline this dark
00:12fantasy series is about to embark on. After the odd goggy crisis settled down in Sentenced to be
00:19a hero episode one, we finally got to see Zylo's backstory. There, we learned why exactly he was
00:26sentenced to this misfortune of being a penal hero. Apparently, it turns out it was all just a
00:32setup, a setup to frame Zylo and have him kill Senerva. The crimes he was framed for actually
00:38sound horrifying too. Despite being a holy knight himself, he disobeyed orders and charged into
00:44defeating the eleventh demon lord on his own, taking his former goddess, Senerva, and his other
00:50subordinates with him. However, Zylo claims it's all a lie and that he was actually following
00:56orders. But even if we look past that, he couldn't deny that he certainly did kill the goddess,
01:01Senerva. This was when the series established itself as a true dark fantasy anime. Still,
01:08the reason he gave for such action will surely become one of the series' biggest plot threads.
01:14Why Zylo had to kill Senerva, his former goddess per Zylo's explanation, even a goddess can get
01:20corrupted by demon blight. And if that ever happens, the mutated goddess can become the
01:25strongest demon lord to ever exist. Just the thought of it gives chills. So the reason Zylo
01:31had to kill Senerva was that she was already affected by demon blight and was close to losing
01:37herself. Since no reinforcement came their way, the two had to almost fight to their death. Though Zylo
01:44barely survived, Senerva was seen to be affected by the demon blight. The infection was spreading
01:50through the right side of her body and face, and it was truly a heartbreaking sight, to say the least.
01:56So to prevent Senerva from going berserk, Zylo had no choice but to put an end to her life
02:02for the safety of the kingdom, for the safety of everyone else. But hearing all that, what does the
02:07church say? It's all a lie. There are no records of such a phenomenon, and the very possibility of
02:13something like that happening was discarded. The soldiers were immediately dispatched to stop Zylo
02:19from further spreading such blasphemous speech. And you know what all of this implies. The church
02:25is clearly hiding something heinous. Being completely powerless in that situation, Zylo was sentenced to
02:31serve as a hero for eternity. Sentenced to be a hero episode, one sets up Zylo's fate. Near the very end
02:39of the episode, you could feel Zylo's sheer hatred and anger toward those standing before him. Those who
02:46set him up, going as far as making him kill Senerva and then forcing him to become a penal hero. In that
02:52very moment, Zylo swore he'd find the mastermind of this evil and kill them with his very own hands.
02:58Now, who exactly it was, or whether the person was even at the church, is still unknown. It could be
03:05someone with greater influence, manipulating everyone else in the holy church from behind
03:10the scenes. For what reason, though? Again, we also don't have an answer for that yet. Probably,
03:16it's tied to some internal power struggle among the high-ups, and they simply saw Zylo as a hindrance
03:22to their ulterior goal. So they tried to remove him from the picture. Now, after knowing all that,
03:29it'll be interesting to see what Teorita's reaction is going to be in the next episode.
03:34Sentenced to be a hero is currently available to watch on Crunchyroll.
