00:00A new roguelike putting a Moorish twist on classic mechanics has popped off on Steam.
00:04Slots and Daggers has sold 100,000 copies in its first 10 days, according to its stunned
00:09Solo creator. Following recent roguelikes like Megabonk and Borlex Pit, Slots and Daggers has
00:13got an impressive mileage out of a pretty simple gameplay loop. It's basically a tactical fantasy
00:18RPG played via slot machine, gearing and battles viewed through the lens of coins and levers.
00:23It's immediately fun, and it hits your brain a bit like the Lattro.
00:26Sharing the sales news, solo dev Friedemann Almanroda, previously known for Summer House
00:30and Pizza Possum, says he was not expecting 100,000 copies sold when I sent this message
00:35to publisher Future Friends. Was also not expecting to work on it for longer than six weeks,
00:39so I guess I've got bad expectation skills.
00:42On Steam, Almanroda teased more to come for Slots and Daggers. For one he says,
00:46I've decided to dial back the aggro stop handle mechanic a bit. A lot of you found it frustrating,
00:51and after thinking it over, I agree. You'll see it less often in runs,
00:54and won't see it at all in arena mode.
