00:00In addition to the executive orders that Marsha referenced, Mayor Adams has added, as you know, 5,000 police officers to the city budget.
00:12First, I'm wondering, is that something that you would undo when you take office?
00:16And second, what do you think he's up to? Is he trying to sandbag your administration?
00:22I'll let the mayor speak for himself.
00:25Yes.
00:26I think that 35,000 is a budgeted number of police officers, I think, is the right amount.
00:33And I think if we're struggling, as Morgan was saying, to even higher up to that amount,
00:37I think ideas of extending it beyond that are not reckoning with the reality that we're living through.
00:42I need to ask you about this because it is out there, sir.
00:45It's been reported that Benjamin Tisch, the brother of the police commissioner,
00:49told a charity group last night that you are the enemy of the Jewish people.
00:53Do you have a response to that?
00:54The commissioner apologized to my team for those remarks,
00:58and I look forward to being a mayor for each and every New Yorker, including Jewish New Yorkers.
01:03All right, Joe, go ahead.
