00:00But we're a couple of days away from the fight right now.
00:02You look pretty good.
00:03You look like you're in a pretty good mood as well.
00:05So how are you feeling right now?
00:08No, I feel great.
00:09I feel fantastic.
00:11You know, leading up to fights is just another day in the office for me.
00:15So, you know, just get the weight down and, you know,
00:18just lock in even more than I'm already locked in.
00:22Are you one of these dudes?
00:23So is it tough for you to make weight?
00:25I mean, some fighters are miserable to be around and all that.
00:28And I told a story last week.
00:31I was around a dude.
00:32I saw him eat two whole chickens after a weigh-in once.
00:34He was a heavyweight fighter, but he literally ordered two full birds
00:38and just crushed it after.
00:41Is it an extreme thing for you where, like, oh, right after the weigh-in,
00:45like, you know, you hit the buffet or whatnot?
00:48Or is it, you know, nice and chill for you making weight?
00:54It's decently chill, I'll say.
00:56It's not the worst.
00:56I've seen guys get, like, couldn't walk, you know,
00:59get assistance from their girlfriend, coaches and stuff,
01:03and chills and all this sort of thing.
01:06But it doesn't bother me.
01:08I'm a wrestler by trade, so I'm pretty used to it.
01:11My body is kind of adjusted.
01:13Yeah, yeah.
01:14I don't walk around too heavy either, so I try to stay ready year-round
01:18so I don't have to, like, have a dramatic cut.
01:20But, yeah, I'm pretty good.
01:23And, you know, you just try to resist going crazy after the weigh-in.
01:27You know, you just try.
01:28But it doesn't always work.
01:30So talk to me about the role you've been on.
01:32You won six of your last seven fights.
01:34Are you feeling like, you know, are you starting –
01:36is this starting to come together for you right now?
01:39Like, do you feel – is this thing –
01:41obviously, you know, your best is still yet to come,
01:43but you've been on a little bit of a roll right now.
01:46What has it been?
01:48Has it been focused?
01:49Like, where are you at right now mentally?
01:51You have to feel pretty good about where you're at.
01:56Yeah, no.
01:57I feel really good.
01:59I feel really good.
01:59I think – you know, I said this in the beginning
02:02when I kind of came back into fighting again.
02:06You know, don't let me get comfortable.
02:08That's what I always used to say.
02:09And, you know, the losses I kind of went through early on in the game
02:15was just me getting accustomed to it, still learning,
02:18still learning the sport, and even still, like, learning how to fight.
02:21Again, I come from –
02:22And you were fighting the cage warriors as well, right?
02:24So, like, you know, a lot of guys are sort of getting their first stuff.
02:27You kind of got thrown into a fire early, man.
02:31Yeah, no.
02:31They – I mean, for sure, you know, they brought me in there
02:35to lose a little bit, you know, but I think I spoiled the show.
02:38And, you know, I'm just getting better and better,
02:40getting more comfortable in the cage, throwing my hands,
02:43seeing offense coming at me, you know,
02:45and training with high-level guys as well.
02:47You know, I'm just getting my bearings.
02:49And like you said, the best is yet to come.
02:52So, speaking of lights out, extreme fighting,
02:55I've been speaking with Sean.
02:56I've known Sean from his football days.
02:58You know, we cover all sports.
02:59And I remember when he started this.
03:02And, hell, it ain't easy to, you know, survive for years.
03:05But he's done a great job marketing it.
03:07And one thing I've noticed, Corbin,
03:09is the quality of fighters are getting better and better, right?
03:13Like, you know, his first couple of fights,
03:14he had, you know, 2-1 guys and 0-1-0 guys.
03:17You know what I mean?
03:18He was sort of – he was going from gym to gym
03:21and finding guys that didn't like each other
03:22and feuds in L.A. and stuff like that.
03:24But I noticed the quality of the fights
03:27and the overall just sort of company really does grow.
03:30Talk to me as someone who's fought in a couple organizations
03:33about what it's like fighting in lights out
03:36and over at the Thunderdome in Long Beach.
03:40Yeah, no, I agree.
03:42I agree.
03:43I think I was there early on as well.
03:46High five for lights out a couple times.
03:48And like you said, you see the quality get better and better fighter.
03:51Guys are getting more dangerous.
03:53Guys are getting smarter in there as well.
03:55And then now you see guys getting, you know,
03:58transferring over to the UFC and, you know, bigger, better things.
04:02So, yeah, it looks – and they're on Fight Pass now.
04:05So that's another big thing.
04:06Before when I was fighting, they weren't.
04:08Yeah, how cool is that?
04:09Like to know there's sort of a light at the end of the tunnel
04:12that, you know what, if I keep on kicking ass and looking good,
04:15people are going to see it.
04:16It's on UFC Fight Pass, right?
04:18People are watching it, the hardcores, and the powers that be
04:21in the industry are watching.
04:23It's tough if you're grinding every day
04:25and there's not a light at the end of the tunnel, right, Corbin?
04:27But there's a light at the end of the tunnel here.
04:30You're seeing guys get UFC fights from lights out.
04:35No, seriously, yeah.
04:36It's, you know, it can feel far away sometimes, you know,
04:41to see the big show.
04:42And, you know, even – I've been to a couple UFCs now,
04:45and, you know, to see the octagon out there is like, dang,
04:48it's like so far.
04:50It's so close but far, right?
04:51Yeah.
04:53I'm within distance.
04:55But for sure, like, to be part of an organization where, you know,
04:58you're going to have some eyes on you, you know,
05:00especially this weekend.
05:02We have a couple lightweight fights, you know, with Marab coming up
05:05and then got the other flyweight championship matchup.
05:09So, you know, flyweight small guys are on display this weekend.
05:12And so it feels good to kind of be on display, be the main event as well,
05:16and be able to show what I've been working on for these past months.
