Inside the Renault Twingo revolution - Ep.4 "Build the impossible"
Transcript
00:00This week, the car will enter in the factory.
00:05And there are a few weeks left to finish the industrialization
00:09and produce the first vehicle.
00:14The delicate part is really the time when we enter in the factory
00:18until the start of the series.
00:20It's there that finally all the teams converge.
00:23And so we have to ensure that we don't have one on the board of the road.
00:26It's really important that the team has a core
00:28and that we can advance together.
00:30Honestly, good job. Everything is green.
00:33So thank all for the convergence.
00:36We'll see a debriefing after the milestone.
00:41We need to go in detail with the regulation,
00:44see what is about here.
00:46For every project,
00:48the entry in the factory is a really key path
00:51since we are at the end of the product development.
00:55We must have a product development valid.
00:57and the factory is prepared to produce the car
01:01and now we are in the industrialization phase.
01:04We consider that Twingo, at the beginning, is a laboratory.
01:07We are going to conquer
01:09to try to discover new methods to go quickly.
01:11What we've done with the Twingo is also a different approach
01:16towards the manufacturing processes.
01:18Thanks to the speed of the project,
01:20because it's somehow the mantra of the Twingo,
01:22the manufacturing plant can learn how to assemble the car,
01:25and which ones are the critical points that you have in every project, right,
01:30to make, to produce the car in series, in a much earlier stages.
01:36The manufacturing plant is really ready to start floating the market with Twingo.
01:48The point of the meeting of the partners was the Slovénie
01:51and the centre of gravity for the whole suppliers
01:54and global suppliers.
01:55We have organized regularly
01:57some points of meetings
01:58so that everyone can work better together in Slovénie.
02:01There were teams from Novo Mesto
02:03who came from China,
02:04some teams based in China
02:06who came from the factory.
02:08We had an adaption
02:10and an exchange
02:11between the different stakeholders
02:13very strong and indispensable
02:15to be able to planify
02:18our activities
02:19and our livable
02:20all together.
02:24The first car made at Novo Mesto
02:26is very impressive.
02:28Now, it's the first step.
02:31It's not to relax.
02:32The end of the planning is quickly
02:34but we have still some small things
02:36to finish
02:37to get to the first vehicle
02:39for the customer.
02:40And that, today, it's too low.
02:42It's going to be going to be able to go down
02:43and we have to ensure
02:45that the proposals
02:46that we will make
02:47are well defined.
02:48So, there is really
02:49to make sure
02:50that it makes it safe
02:51and that it makes it safe.
02:55One of the challenges
02:56of this project
02:57is to keep the same speed
02:58of execution
02:59that we had in Shanghai
03:00at the industry
03:01to Novo Mesto
03:02on this phase of industrialization.
03:04And the advantage we have in our hands is this lighter structure of Ampere
03:08which will help us to limit the risks on the planet.
03:11Ampere has allowed one thing on this project. Ampere has the authority to do different things.
03:17So it was the key to be able to adapt correctly to succeed.
03:24I think the satisfaction of this project is to say that,
03:27it was a year ago, we were all around a key steel bag and we had the first design of the car.
03:35And a year later, we were in a factory, around the first car, with definitive tools.
03:41So that's a record.
03:43Never at Renault we've managed to do something like that.
