00:00The internet remains a goldmine of undiscovered talent.
00:03Fortunately for this collection of singers, dancers, and performers, they not only got
00:07discovered, but they also made some money in the process.
00:10Here's how much these viral stars are worth today.
00:14It didn't take Danielle Bregoli long to capitalize on her viral fame.
00:18After appearing on Dr. Phil in 2016, the confrontational 13-year-old's proposition to the audience spread
00:23like wildfire online.
00:25"...catch me outside, how about that?"
00:27Bregoli and her team began selling a line of merchandise with a catchphrase on it.
00:31The following year, she took the logical next step and became a rapper.
00:34Under the name Bad Baby, she became the youngest female to debut on the Billboard Hot 100.
00:39She then landed a recording deal with Atlantic Records and began charging $30,000 minimum
00:44for appearances.
00:45While Bregoli doesn't know exactly how much she's worth, she told Hollywood Life in June
00:492017 that it's,
00:50"...definitely over a million so far."
00:53Now, with a reported $900,000 makeup endorsement deal, she should be worth around $2 million.
00:58How about dat?
00:59Russell, Backpack Kid, Horning was already well on his way to social media fame before
01:03most of the world caught on.
01:05But it wasn't until he performed his famous dance, The Floss, and donned his iconic backpack
01:09on Saturday Night Live alongside Katy Perry that people outside of his social media followers
01:14knew about Backpack Kid.
01:15After that performance, Horning's dancing has generated him countless public appearances
01:19and perks.
01:20The early days of Horning's fame led to merchandising opportunities, but his team is thinking bigger
01:24now.
01:25In late 2018, Backpack Kid dropped the single and music video, Drip on Boat.
01:30He's also taken on numerous commercials and paid appearances.
01:32While his exact net worth is unknown, Horning's manager has mentioned that he earns approximately
01:37$10,000 to $20,000 on his deals with brands like Xfinity and Holo.
01:41In 2010, it was impossible to miss Antoine Dodson's local news interview or the autotune remix
01:47created by the Gregory Brothers called Bed Intruder.
01:49I'm sure y'all need to hide your kids, hide your wife, and hide your husband.
01:54Dodson initially wasn't too happy with the remix because he thought it was making fun of
01:57his family.
01:58But he changed his mind when the Gregory Brothers approached him about monetizing the song.
02:02Dodson and the Gregory Brothers agreed to split the proceeds 50-50, and then the song went
02:07platinum.
02:08According to some estimates, self-made MP3s earned approximately 57 percent on the dollar
02:12on iTunes.
02:13That means if Bed Intruder really sold more than one million units, it made as much as
02:17$570,000 total.
02:20So at Dodson's 50 percent cut, it's possible that he made as much as $285,000.
02:25Shortly after he shot to internet fame, Dodson told Us Weekly that he was able to buy his
02:29family a new house, go back to school, and plan on starting a business.
02:33However, by 2014, he unsuccessfully attempted to crowdfund his second act, which was just
02:38internet videos about his life called the Antoine Dodson Experience.
02:41Unfortunately, many viral stars reach great heights by way of mockery.
02:46That's how it went in 2011 for Rebecca Black, the young singer behind the much-maligned Friday.
02:51The heavily auto-tuned song and cheesy video weren't meant to be jokes, but they were ridiculed.
02:57But then came the talk that Black became a millionaire from the song.
02:59Could that really be true?
03:01It turns out, not quite, or at least, not immediately.
03:04According to Billboard, she made close to $25,000 over the course of a week.
03:08Depending on her agreements with YouTube, she could have made even more from all the views
03:11she racked up.
03:12In 2011, Rolling Stone estimated that she made more than $50,000 off the song overall.
03:17In the years since Friday, Black's career has continued onward, and her earnings have accumulated.
03:22She has released several more singles and music videos, and in 2018, she appeared on season
03:26two of The Four Battle for Stardom.
03:29With all her royalties from iTunes and YouTube, her net worth is now estimated at over $1 million.
03:34It didn't matter that William Hung couldn't sing well, because his viral appearance on American
03:38Idol was enough to pave the way for him to become a star.
03:41You know, I have no professional training of singing and dancing, so…
03:45No.
03:45Well, that's the prize of the century.
03:48After appearing on American Idol, Hung booked countless interviews and talk shows.
03:52His debut album, Inspiration, landed in the top 50 on the Billboard charts, selling more
03:57than 200,000 units.
03:59While his two follow-up albums only sold a fraction of that, his nearly $250,000 in total
04:03album sales made him some good money.
04:06Without knowing the structure of Hung's recording contract, it's difficult to say how much he's
04:09made in total.
04:10Still, we know that he received a $25,000 advance for the first record, then when royalty estimates
04:15are factored in, he's likely made between $75,000 and $250,000 in his music career.
04:20And that's not even considering the commercials, TV spots, and other paid gigs.
04:24The choice is yours, so choose to become a champion and change your destiny, starting today.
04:33After Rosie McClelland and Sophia Grace Brownlee went adorably viral by singing Nicki Minaj's
04:38Superbase, Ellen DeGeneres basically turned them into superstars.
04:42From there, they landed TV roles, published a best-selling book, and starred in their very
04:46own movie, Sophia Grace and Rosie's Royal Adventure, which secured Sophia Grace $50,000, while Rosie's
04:52compensation wasn't disclosed.
04:54As their spotlight dimmed, the two girls started doing their own thing.
04:57Sophia Grace, the more vocal of the pair, started a solo singing career, releasing several
05:01singles, an EP, and a studio album.
05:04Both girls run popular and successful YouTube channels as well.
05:07Rosie's posts a little bit of everything, and has likely earned her somewhere in the neighborhood
05:11of $60,000.
05:12Meanwhile, Sophia Grace boasts more than 3.2 million subscribers, with lifetime views over
05:17732 million.
05:19At the average rate of $1 per 1,000 views, that's more than $732,000.
