00:00Well first of all you look incredible. Thank you. How does it feel to be here
00:04today and finally be able to drop this movie? I'm excited for it. I've seen the
00:08movie a couple times now. I'm always excited to see it with an audience
00:11because it's one of those things like it's really a communal thing. Everybody
00:15is debating and discussing what would they do in the situation that the family
00:19are in. But also it's my second time working with Knight and I have such a
00:23great time working with him. He always pushes us all out of our comfort zones
00:27and challenges us and so it's a piece of work that as an ensemble I'm just so
00:32proud of the work we did together. Definitely and that's what I was gonna
00:35ask you previously worked with M. Night Shyamalan on his previous film Old. How
00:39did this experience compare? Well it was similar in that we both sat on one
00:44location both happened in a 24-hour period both with an ensemble cast. I think I
00:49mean this was interesting for me because I was working in his hometown in
00:52Philadelphia. I got to spend time we got to spend time with his family and visit
00:57his home and he really makes people feel welcome into his family and there's a
01:01really loving atmosphere on set and I think because I have that trust there and
01:06we had that trust as a company it meant that emotionally we could go to places
01:11that maybe surprised us even and it was a really heartfelt experience. Now of
01:18course M. Night Shyamalan movies are known for their twist endings what was your
01:22first reaction when you read the ending of the script? I feel that although his movies are known
01:31for a twist like it's it's also about something else for me which is that I
01:36think that he uses fear to kind of shake up an audience to feel something
01:40surprising and I think with this film what you're left with is this beautiful
01:45family and the love that they have for each other and yeah that was that was what was kind of
01:51almost more surprising to me. I also feel like the horror genre is getting
01:56almost like a remodel remake resurgence how do you feel or why do you think that
02:02that is? I think there's been a lot you know we've all been through so much in
02:08the last few years right life has been scary in itself we've all been through a
02:11pandemic we've all had to face our fears I think sometimes it's like with
02:16classical text like Greek tragedy you you go to watch a protagonist go through the
02:21things that you're afraid of because there's a sense of release like you
02:25you experience all the fear but you know that you're safe and then when you go
02:28home and you cherish your family and your loved ones and you kind of appreciate
02:32life a bit more I think that's kind of how Knight uses this particular genre to
02:36kind of scare people but show them that they are capable of overcoming their fears you know?
02:40definitely and finally is there an M Night Shyamalan movie with a twist ending that
02:46you've enjoyed the most?
02:47oh I mean obviously Sixth Sense is just classic of the ages and what's so good
02:55about that movie is you can know the twist and watch it again and it's still so
02:58good I really loved the twist at the end of Split as well I didn't see it coming
03:03and I thought that was such a beautiful like character study with James McAvoy's
03:08character and his what seemed like schizophrenia and then it was all turned
03:13on its head at the end I thought it was just wild
