00:27Immigration and Customs Enforcement are now reportedly being sent to Minneapolis in Minnesota

00:33to deport undocumented Somali immigrants. Minnesota has long been one of the largest Somali populations

00:40outside of the country, with around 80,000 Somalis living there.

00:44Trump has stepped up his immigration crackdown on Somali immigrants after two National Guards

00:49were shot in Washington DC in late November, even though the suspect in that case is an

00:55Afghan national. In a statement to The Independent, the US Homeland Security Department wrote,

01:11on Somalian communities around the world. I think it seems like part of the reason why there has been

01:18attacks on Somali communities especially is because I think Ilhan is one of the most vocal opponents

01:25of the administration. Deep racism is the status quo, where I personally am watching it and not having a

01:36strong kind of emotional reaction to our president saying this because it's to be expected at this

01:41point. Throughout his presidency, Trump has consistently taken aim at immigrant communities.
