00:03This is the case for some Filipinos experiencing the so-called Holiday Heart Syndrome.

00:10According to the Department of Health, or DOH,

00:12the Holiday Heart Syndrome is a heart condition

00:15generally caused by excessive alcohol drinking or binge drinking.

00:20Patients of the illness experience irregular heart rhythm

00:23or even stress that could lead to heart failure.

00:27According to the Philippine Heart Center,

00:29heart diseases still lead the top causes of death in the Philippines.

00:34Hence, the DOH advised the public to wash over their intake during the holidays.
