00:24ahead of a peace agreement signing ceremony between Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
00:30The institute was created in 1984 by former President Ronald Reagan
00:34as an NGO funded by Congress to prevent and resolve international conflicts.
00:39Trump, who has repeatedly voiced his desire to win the Nobel Peace Prize,
00:44issued an executive order in February to dismantle the institute.
00:48It had been part of a broader effort by the Department of Government Efficiency,
00:52formerly led by Elon Musk, to halt institutions that work on foreign policy.
00:56The organization's president was removed from the building by law enforcement
