00:00We have said, in fact if you watch Kemi's fantastic conference speech you would have seen that,
00:05we've said we need to see real welfare reform.
00:08We've put forward a paper that would see £23 billion of savings in welfare.
00:13We've stood up for the two-child cap, we've stood up to reduce the spending on welfare.
00:18The reality is that 3,000 people a day are assigned up to sickness and incapacity benefits.
00:23That's up 50%.
00:24Last week we saw the Chancellor announce an additional £16 billion in welfare spending.
00:32There are people out there paying record levels of tax.
00:35They need to see value for money.
00:36Welfare should be about supporting people who need it.
00:39It's supposed to be a safety net.
00:40Actually, the odds are stacked against those people who work,
00:43who are now subsidising people who are out of work in ever greater volumes and numbers.
00:4819% more people unemployed since this government came to office.
00:51Those people have got to be supported in some way, shape or form,
00:54and increasing that benefit bill is not helpful to hard-working taxpayers across the country.
