00:00But we did have some breaking news about a couple of weeks ago.

00:03James Franklin takes the job at Virginia Tech.

00:06The Hokies lost their last regular season game to Virginia.

00:11But as a whole, Coach, you look at Virginia Tech being able to pull the trigger early, get their guy.

00:17There are some schools outside the ACC, like Penn State, his former team, that doesn't even have a head coach in place.

00:24They have the 128th-ranked recruiting class out of 135 schools.

00:29We talked about Manny Diaz and maybe Jeff Brom being mentioned as candidates.

00:34What does that mean for the other coaches within the ACC that James Franklin now is in the conference?

00:41Well, I think the ones that are still out there and have not found another job or not looking for another job,

00:49you have to be on a hot, not the hot seat, but you have to be hot to get another job.

00:54And it's a game of what have you done for me lately?

00:57So what has Duke done for anybody lately?

01:00You know, even Georgia Tech, as good as they have been, what have they done for anybody lately?

01:04They lost three out of the last four football games.

01:07And that's kind of how football and coaching carousel is.

01:11You've got to win immediately.

01:13You've got to win the most games now.

01:15And so I think right now we've about seen all the movement.

01:18I still think Tony Elliott, I guess he signed a new contract with Virginia.

01:22He's probably done the, he's done the best job in the conference, should be coach of the year.

01:28What a wonderful fit.

01:29He would have been at Penn State.

01:31And I've heard rumors they've hired a coach at Penn State.

01:35Would have they hired the coach from somewhere was rumored to go to Penn State already?

01:39Well, the rumor was Kalani Sataki.

01:42That is the rumor of a BYU.

01:44Right.

01:45That hasn't been finalized yet.

01:46Jeff Brom now is another name that is all of a sudden basically in predictive markets.

01:52Just been the front runner.

01:54And Manny Diaz is basically a forgotten commodity coach.

01:57You know, they have five losses on the year.

02:00And now Duke playing for an ACC championship.

02:03Diaz isn't mentioned with any of these openings right now.

02:07Yeah, but even if Duke wins the conference, they're not going to make the college football playoffs.

02:13It's been a, I think, a bad year for him.

02:16He's expected to have much more of a better season.

02:19If he wins the conference, that'll put him in a good projection for the future.

02:24Jeff Brom, I think he lost three out of his last four football games.

02:27He did not finish strong.

02:29His quarterback was banged up.

02:30He had his running backs were lost and did not play.

02:33And so he did not finish strong.

02:35And he is a Louisville graduate, former quarterback there.

02:39So I could see him staying there.

02:40Manny Diaz, really right now, he's not a hot topic.

02:43He's not a hot item.

02:45It would have to be an NFL-type job or something like that, I think, at this point in time.
