Margaret Atwood is known for many works, but she is perhaps most famous for writing “The Handmaid’s Tale,” a dystopian novel about a theocratic future America where women are forced to bear children for others. After the federal repeal of Roe v. Wade, which had provided national access to abortion care, many people drew parallels to Atwood’s novel, first published in 1985.
