Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz has been appointed as Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) chairman for two years effective Wednesday (Dec 3).

Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir and Datuk Dr Mohd Na'im Mohktar were also sworn in as senators once again in Parliament.

00:00The Prime Minister's office on Wednesday said Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz had been appointed as Malaysian Investment Development Authority or MIDA chairman for two years, effective immediately.
00:13They said Zafrul will also be given several additional responsibilities that will be announced later by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
00:22Zafrul's senatorship and tenure as investment, trade and industry minister ended on Tuesday.
00:26Anwar also announced the reappointment of Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, Datuk Dr. Mohamed Naim Mokhtar and Datuk Seri Dr. Zambri Abdul Qadir as senators for another term with immediate effect.
00:41He said this will help them ensure continuity in their duties as Home Minister, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department and Higher Education Minister respectively.
00:51The three were sworn in at the Dewan Nagara.
00:53Saifuddin was the first to take oath of office, followed by Dr. Zambri and Dr. Mohamed Naim.
01:00The three were originally appointed as senators on in December 2022, in line with the formation of the cabinet after the 15th general election.
01:09Their reappointment confirms that they will continue in their current ministerial roles, amid cabinet vacancies following the resignation of three ministers and the end of Zafrul's senatorship.
