00:00In the UK, 70,000 children go missing every year.

00:06Think about that number for a second.

00:08It's enough children to fill 100 schools.

00:12It's one child every two and a half minutes.

00:15It's a child who felt lost and alone.

00:18A child who felt there was no way out but to escape.

00:21A child who felt there was no one to turn to.

00:23And that's why the Independent and Missing People have joined up to launch Safe Call.

00:27But we can't do it alone.

00:28We need your help to fundraise so we can create a cutting-edge service designed to reach missing young people in need.

00:36It will include a dedicated UK helpline where they can talk to a trusted adult via call, text or WhatsApp.

00:44A new 24-7 chatbot to provide help at any time, any day.

00:48And a new website which will be targeted specifically at young people.

00:52Safe Call will be developed with and for young people.

00:55When they face harm, when they face exploitation, they often feel invisible.

01:00This new service will help them to feel seen and heard.
