00:00Big move, very shallow down to the inside by Hutter, somehow he makes the corner despite coming in almost on the inside of that entry, but he's not done yet.
00:10It looks like that slowed up his exit, and Perriot, who tries to go underneath him through the final corner, has to back out, here comes Pechnik.
00:18Yeah, Pechnik's gonna be taking a look down to the inside of what is turn number one, that's close, almost contact, and now we've got a car up and over on its lid,
00:27settling back down on the wheels, an incident in turn number one.
00:31Naturally, a full course yellow is out immediately, and our thoughts are with Perriot, hoping that he's okay, thankfully these cars are usually extremely safe,
00:42but that was an incredible ride through the first corner, and we're only 15 minutes into this event, this will back everybody up, slow everyone in down,
00:52too early for any scheduled pit stops, without a doubt, so this should at least stay straightforward on strategy.
01:00Yeah, that was a rough one, although I do see the safety crew already at Todd Perriot's side there, I mean, man, when you touch wheels in these cars,
01:09it does sort of tend to launch the car into the air, but as Joe was saying, these cars are very safe, although we're gonna hope that Todd's doing okay there.
01:19We'll wait for word before we give any news on that, we want to make sure that we only give accurate information.
01:27It does sound like that we have to race near the Kelly Moss pit, so let's kind of get their thoughts on what's going on.
01:41Hey guys, I'm so sorry, we're not quite right yet, yet, we're checking in on the driver, I'll throw it back to you as soon as I have news.
01:46Alright, so, understandable in this situation, we'll come back to Therese in just a moment.
01:54Just some housekeeping as far as what's going on out on track, Metney is still your overall leader in the 245 car, and that's in the AM class.
02:03The Pro-Am sees Chris Hutter leading in the 281, that's fifth overall.
02:09Meanwhile, down in the Caymans, it is Charles Espinlob leading in that number 73 for the Cayman Pro-Am class.
02:20So, we kind of sit tight, wait patiently.
02:25We never want to see big accidents like this happen, but sometimes that's the nature of the beast.
02:30This is such a fast track out here that sometimes it's just going to happen, and you're going to have to deal with some very scary incidents.
02:43As safe as they do try to make it, the G-forces will certainly throw you for a loop out here.
02:50So, we see the safety car has picked up the field, is leading them around as they continue to attend to the car of Todd Perriott.
02:57Yeah, getting everything all cleaned up and make sure all of the rest of the pack is caught up to that safety car.
03:06And remember, here in the Endurance Challenge, you cannot pit under that yellow flag.
03:12And like you heard Joe Peek say, I think it was a little bit early anyways to kind of start playing any sort of strategy.
03:18So, we are just going to make sure that everything is A-OK down there in turn number one.
03:23And make sure that we've got a safe racetrack, safe drivers out there to continue racing.
03:31All right.
03:31So, 17 minutes into this race, we expected to have some action.
03:37Didn't quite think we'd be getting this kind of craziness this early on.
03:42Sending the tow truck over to the location.
03:45No doubt that car is going to be a right mess after going and over down into turn one.
03:52I had only caught just the very end of it.
03:55I don't know if you had saw the start of it, Joey.
03:58I would assume it was maybe a touch of tires?
04:01Yeah.
04:01So, I believe it was the 216 car just going down the inside.
04:06And if you remember, that 213 was already kind of on the back foot from being too wide in turn number 12.
04:14And it looks like a representative from down there says the driver is OK.
04:20That's what we want to report on, that everybody is safe out there.
04:24And it looks like we're going to actually get a replay, Joe Peek.
04:28So, this is going to be exactly what happened.
04:30We're going to see the car go down the inside.
04:32And they actually turn in all right.
04:35I thought they were going to go side by side.
04:37But it's actually more towards the curbing where they make contact right there.
04:41And it's just the front left to the right rear just sent that car all around.
04:46But this is exactly what caused it just, unfortunately, Perriot getting checked up.
04:51Pechenik down to the inside.
04:53And we all know what happens.
04:57And it's just a single roll, it looks like.
05:01So, it could have been a lot worse.
05:03And the gravel trap did its job.
05:05I don't think it even reached the tire barrier, did it?
05:09I'm sure it did.
05:10Turn number one is incredibly fast.
05:13But, like I said, everybody is A-OK down there.
05:18I do have word that the driver is en route to infield care.
