Peso Pluma tells THR how special it is to be nominated at the 2023 VMAs. Plus, he shares his reaction to being the first Música Mexicana act to perform in the show.

00:03How special is that and how meaningful is that for you?
00:06It is very special. I'm just representing my country. I'm representing my flag.
00:11I've been told that I'm the first Mexican to ever perform here in the VMAs and it's just amazing.
00:17Definitely. Is there any artists or any special moments that you're looking forward to tonight?
00:22Well, I'm looking for every performance from every artist because I think since I was a kid, I've been watching the VMAs and it's just been crazy to be here.
00:37Tonight, Shakira is being awarded with the Video Vanguard Award. How cool is that and especially the representation that she brings with her as well?
00:45I mean, it is very big. What is happening with Latin people and Latin music, it's just going to another level, just going global.
00:59And I think that's good for every country, you know?
01:04Is there one song or one performance of hers that sticks out to you?

01:14I mean, I can choose a lot because she has a lot. But, yeah, I mean, the Super Bowl was crazy.
