00:04you could say 2024 was defined by musical moments.
00:07So we're counting down the 10 best songs of 2024.
00:16Coming in at number 10 is No Caller ID by Megan Maroney.
00:20According to THR's music critic Mesvin Fikadu,
00:23if you haven't listened to the rising country music star yet, this is the place to start.
00:30Number 9 is Fortnite by Taylor Swift, featuring Post Malone.
00:36Fikadu says Fortnite is mellow and down-tempo, but also bold and direct,
00:40putting Swift's skilled songwriting in the driver's seat with a shining assist from Malone.
00:50Eighth on the list is Heart of a Woman by Summer Walker,
00:53who our critic says continues to lead R&B's contemporary class.
01:00This list wouldn't be complete without what many called the song of the summer,
01:05Espresso by Sabrina Carpenter.
01:07According to Fikadu, like the drink it's named after, the song is tasty and addictive.
01:11It's what you know about me, B-G-L-O-N-A-G-L-E.
01:15Number 6 is What You Know About Me by Glorilla, featuring Sexy Red.
01:19THR's critic says this year really put Glorilla on the map,
01:23proving she's not going anywhere but up.
01:25Cracking the top 5 is Beautiful Things by Benson Boone,
01:33which Fikadu says is more than a social media hit,
01:35thanks to the rising singer's beautiful, rocking vocals and reflective songwriting.
01:43Brat Summer ruled 2024,
01:45so it's no surprise that Charli XCX is on this list with her electronic bop, 360.
01:50I've been a nasty girl, nasty, I've been a nasty girl.
01:54Tinashe comes in at number 3 with Nasty,
01:57which our critic calls a slick track that forces your bones to dance.
02:01I'll be your shotgun rider till the day I die.
02:07Beyonce is number 2 on the list with her Cowboy Carter track,
02:10Two Most Wanted, featuring Miley Cyrus.
02:12Fikadu calls the song a remarkable duet, full of country, rock and pop elements.
02:16They not like us, they not like us, they not like us.
02:21And finally, number 1 is Not Like Us by Kendrick Lamar.
02:25While the song might have started off as a Drake diss track,
