00:00Trump Cancels Executive Orders Biden Signed Via Autopen
00:03President Donald Trump announced Friday that any executive orders or official documents
00:08signed by former President Joe Biden using an Autopen are now void.
00:13Trump made the declaration on Truth Social, claiming that approximately 92% of Biden's
00:18executive actions were signed with the device rather than by hand.
00:22The Autopen is not allowed to be used if approval is not specifically given by the President
00:27of the United States, Trump wrote, alleging that those who operated the device did so
00:32illegally.
00:33He further claimed Biden was not involved in the Autopen process and warned that if Biden
00:39said otherwise, he would face potential perjury charges.
00:43The move dramatically escalates Trump's ongoing criticism of Biden's presidency and questions
00:49the legitimacy of official actions taken during Biden's term.
00:52Trump framed the situation as an issue of constitutional authority, saying he was
00:57hereby cancelling all executive orders and anything else that was not directly signed
01:02by Crooked Joe Biden.
01:04The Autopen issue also resurfaced earlier in the week during Trump's annual turkey pardon
01:09ceremony.
01:11Trump joked that Biden's use of an Autopen in the previous year's turkey pardon made those
01:15pardons totally invalid, claiming he had conducted a thorough and very rigorous investigation.
01:21The scrutiny of Biden's use of the Autopen intensified in September, when the White House replaced
01:27Biden's portrait on the presidential walk of fame with a photo of an Autopen recreating
01:32his signature.
01:33The device, long used by presidents from both parties, allows official documents to be signed
01:38mechanically when the president is unavailable to sign in person.
01:42While Autopen signatures have historically been considered legally binding, Trump's sweeping
01:47order attempts to invalidate a significant portion of Biden's presidential actions.
01:52The White House has not yet issued a response to Trump's announcement.
