00:00Trump offers to release MRI. President Donald Trump told reporters Sunday that he is willing
00:06to release the results of an MRI he underwent in October, describing the scan as perfect and
00:12insisting he has nothing to hide. Speaking aboard Air Force One on his return to Washington, D.C.
00:18after spending Thanksgiving at Mar-a-Lago, Trump said he had no objection to making the scan public.
00:23If they want to release it, it's okay with me, he said. It's perfect. When pressed again,
00:29he repeated his willingness to release it. Reporters asked which part of his body had been
00:34scanned, prompting Trump to reply, I have no idea. It wasn't the brain because I took a cognitive test
00:40and I aced it. I got a perfect mark. The MRI has drawn attention because it is a more detailed
00:46medical imaging procedure than presidents typically receive during routine checkups. On October 10th,
00:52the White House released a memo from Trump's physician, Dr. Sean Barbabella, stating the scan
00:58was part of a scheduled follow-up evaluation at Walter Reed and a standard component of the
01:03president's preventive health plan. The memo noted that accompanying lab studies were exceptional
01:08with stable metabolic, hematologic, and cardiac markers, but it did not specify why the MRI was
01:15ordered or what area was examined, a lack of detail that has fueled media questions. During a recent
01:21White House press briefing, Press Secretary Caroline Levitt surprised reporters by releasing the MRI results.
01:28Though further interpretation has not been publicly discussed. Trump, now in his second term,
01:34has consistently responded to questions about his health by pointing to his stamina and workload.
01:39He again emphasized Sunday that he performs strongly on cognitive assessments.
01:44While the White House has not confirmed whether the full MRI report will be published,
01:49Trump's remarks indicate he is open to broader disclosure,
01:52a topic that often draws public scrutiny for presidents of both parties.
