00:00The city of Portland, Oregon, had its tree lighting this week.
00:05Not Christmas tree lighting, just the tree lighting, everyone at the ceremony was careful to say.
00:10Because, of course, Christmas would be exclusionary or something like that.
00:19They brought in speakers, including a woman who said the holiday season is the perfect time to talk about genocide.
00:26Sudan, Congo, Yemen, Lebanon, Haiti, all the oppressed people around the globe.
00:34We're all here together, and so I felt like this was a perfect time to put them up there and for your guys' prayers for every single one of the Palestinians and all the oppressed peoples around the globe.
00:45And then led the crowd, or tried to lead the crowd, in a chants of free Palestine.
00:49The genocide there is as fictional as Santa, who was the most Christmas-like figure they did bring up on stage.
00:58He even led the crowd in singing a carol or two, like angels we have heard on high.
01:02So it wasn't a completely Christmas-free zone, but it was pretty bad.
01:07And as Portland is wont to do, had all manner of politically correct, woke, blah, blah, blah.
01:14This came to national attention because of online chatter griping about the thing.
01:18Portland, Oregon had their 41st annual Christmas tree lighting, where they purposely didn't mention Christmas.
01:25I'm in front of the Portland, they call it the tree, I'm not even kidding you.
01:28Look at, they can't even say Christmas.
01:30It says right there on the thing, right there, it says the tree.
01:33But this is not really an online issue, it's a real-world issue.
01:38The city, its civic health is so poor that it can't even do a hearty Christmas tree lighting.
01:45Why not honor other religions, honor other faiths in their own way, but just go with a full multicultural feel that actually celebrates the normal historic culture that almost everyone in Portland has, in fact, inherited.
02:01It's sad.
02:02This is a city that is slowly being destroyed by excessive liberalism.
02:06It's got a huge homeless problem in downtown.
02:09Tourists don't want to go to Portland anymore because it's so awful downtown.
02:12The city has a huge heritage, lots of wonderful things going on there, as the whole state of Oregon does.
02:18But the left is slowly destroying it because they can't stand for even normal, good, healthy, inherited happiness.
