00:00Eddie Howe was the most relieved man inside the Hill Dickinson Stadium
00:04as Newcastle United finally claimed their first away victory in the Premier League this season
00:09and they did it in style, beating Everton by four goals to one.
00:14Two were headers by defender Malik Chau with one in each half
00:18with Lewis Miley firing a shot through Jordan Pickford
00:21before Nick Vultimarda then lobbed the Everton goalkeeper.
00:25The Toffees did pull one back in the second half
00:27when Kean and Dewsbury Hall controlled the ball between two defenders
00:30before slotting home.
00:32Eddie Howe was simply happy to not have to answer any more questions
00:36on Newcastle's Premier League away form this season
00:38but admitted that this win, whilst impressive, was only the first step.
00:43I'm just pleased I don't have to answer the dreaded questions on it.
00:48We've got a lot of work to do, obviously, to consistently say
00:52that we've solved some of the issues that we've had
00:56but it's a step forward and that's a big moment for us confidence-wise
01:00for the general feeling, back-to-back wins in the Premier League
01:04that will help us no end
01:05and now we have two home games that we need to try and capitalise on.
01:08Yeah, no, look, they were much better than us.
01:14Played better and much more physical, much more experienced than we are.
01:18I can see that Newcastle are learning from their Champions League games
01:23and, you know, when they have to defend or hard to play against
01:27and really quick on the counter-attack and, look, we were beaten by the better team.
01:32There's no doubt about that.
01:34An honest assessment from David Moyes
01:36but he will still have high hopes for his Everton team this season.
01:40For Eddie Howe and Newcastle, they know that they are about to embark
01:43on a potentially season-defining run of games
01:46starting with two home fixtures against Tottenham and Burnley
01:49which could put them right back in the mix for European qualification.
01:54There is also a Champions League away trip to Leverkusen
01:57and a Carabao Cup quarter-final at home to Fulham.
02:03Sandwiched in between Leverkusen and Fulham, though,
02:06is the small matter of the time-weird derby against Sunderland.
02:09Now that Newcastle have that elusive away win, though, they may well be more confident.
