00:00Dozens of deranged fans lined up for hours outside of a Manhattan courthouse awaiting their anti-hero, Luigi Mangione, on Monday.
00:09One fan who spent $150 on an Uber to get to the courthouse told The Post, quote,
00:15it's important for me to be here because he's innocent.
00:18Now, let me paint a picture here. There are extremely limited seats in court,
00:23so when I say they lined up for hours, I mean 4 or 5 a.m. in the freezing cold.
00:30Another fan, for lack of a better word, who waited in that cold and still missed getting in by two spots,
00:36told us, quote, I'm just here to support Luigi and fight against stigma, against mental health issues.
00:43Inside the courtroom, Mangione was dressed in a gray suit, an expensive checked shirt with his trademark coiffed eyebrows,
00:50and those eyebrows were a big part of the day's proceedings.
00:53If you need a refresher, the hearing concerns whether or not certain evidence will be admissible in his state murder trial.
01:00The evidence in question is his backpack and its contents searched at the Altoona, Pennsylvania McDonald's,
01:06where he was captured, and whether or not police needed a warrant.
01:09In a 911 call played in court, the McDonald's manager says, quote,
01:13I have a customer here that some other customers were suspicious of, that he looks like the CEO shooter from New York.
01:19They then described what he was wearing and added, quote,
01:22The only thing you can see is his eyebrows.
01:25The hearing continues today, and I will be on top of any major updates.
