00:00so over here you can see that I have a bunch of data which is actually separated out by comma
00:10so let's say what I want to do is after each comma I want it to be assigned a new column in
00:17that case you can actually go ahead and use the text to column feature in Excel so to do that you
00:23can actually select out the cells right here with the data that has the comma and then you can
00:29actually go around over here on to the data tab and then around over here you can simply go ahead
00:34and choose text to column so once you do that you can see that you can actually go ahead and choose
00:41a fixed width right here fields assigned in column width spaces or you can choose characters right
00:47here so I'm just going to go around over here and choose characters because I'm actually using a
00:52comma so I'm going to click on next right here and select out comma right here and as soon as I select
00:58out comma you can actually see that it can visit out right here in as lines right here you can even
01:05go ahead and add in other like you can add in space if you want to as well so you can use space as the
01:11separator you can also use others as separator so you can go to others type in whatever you want so
01:17let me just type in comma and that is what you have so let's say I'm going to type in let's say for
01:22example the letter c right here then it actually goes ahead and then uses the letter c as the
01:27separator but let me just go ahead and select out comma you can even go ahead and select multiples as
01:33you can see right here but let me just go ahead and select out comma and then click on next right
01:38here and this is what you have right here so let's just finish it and you can see that it has been
01:44separated out right here into different columns so that is how you can simply go ahead and split out
01:49data into multiple columns in microsoft excel so hope you found this video useful be sure to hit the
