00:04The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that the acclaimed dystopian anthology series that explores technology's impact on humanity is ramping up for another season.
00:14The new season is expected to have more episodes than season five, which only had three, but will continue the series' trend of producing longer and more cinematic stories.
00:23The previous season aired back in 2019. The pause in production may have been due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
00:29Creator Charlie Brooker previously said in an interview with UK's Radio Times that making more episodes of the series felt wrong during such a real-life global tragedy, noting,
00:38"...I don't know what stomach there would be for stories about societies falling apart, so I'm not working away on one of those."
00:44However, behind-the-scenes drama involving Black Mirror producers Brooker and Annabelle Jones launching a new production banner may have also factored into production being halted.
00:53Since their last season of Black Mirror, Brooker and Jones have produced two annual end-of-year specials for the streamer, Death to 2020 and Death to 2021.
01:03No other production or casting details or a premiere date have yet to be set for the new season.
