00:00NVIDIA investing this time in a chip designing software maker.
00:04And a public one at this.
00:05And it's done it before, remember, invested in Intel,
00:07but largely we've seen it go into companies that help fuel the purchase of its GPUs,
00:12whether it's a NeoCloud like CoreWeave,
00:13whether it's OpenAI that needs the chips to be designing its large language model.
00:17But we understand that this is all about the design the CUDA offering.
00:20Remember, NVIDIA is so dominant because it's sort of a full stack.
00:23You get the hardware, you get the chips,
00:24you also get the software with which to be training your large language models,
00:27CUDA, CUDA, as it's known.
00:29This is chip design and software company Synopsys that publicly trades
00:33has not done well on the public markets.
00:35And now we see NVIDIA coming in and snapping up $2 billion worth.
00:38But they say this is a partnership.
00:39This is about expanding time, ultimately the offering, but also speed to market.
00:44So it's meant to be a win-win on both sides thus far.
00:47It's a win for Synopsys shares, maybe not so much for NVIDIA.
00:50Not so much for NVIDIA, although sentiment is obviously down.
