Rihanna says she wants her Super Bowl performance to represent for immigrants, her country Barbados and Black women around the world.

00:14Rihanna is opening up about her performance

00:16at this year's Super Bowl halftime show

00:18and sharing that motherhood encouraged her to accept the gig.

00:21During a press appearance with halftime show sponsor

00:24Apple Music ahead of Sunday's big game,

00:26the singer admitted that when she got the call

00:28about the opportunity, she did think twice about it.

00:31I was like, you sure?

00:34Like, I'm three months postpartum,

00:37like, should I be making major decisions like this right now?

00:39Like, I might regret this.

00:41But the 34-year-old said becoming a mom

00:43gave her the energy to take on the big event,

00:45especially with her nine-month-old son watching on.

00:47When you become a mom, there's something that just happens

00:50where you feel like you could take on the world,

00:52you can do anything, and the Super Bowl

00:54is one of the biggest stages in the world.

00:56The Grammy-winning star also shared that it was important

00:59for her to perform on such a big stage to represent, quote,

01:01for immigrants, represent for my country, Barbados,

01:04and represent for black women everywhere.

01:07Rihanna has released eight studio albums

01:08and logged 14 number one hits on the Billboard's Hot 100 chart.

01:12She didn't say which songs from her epic 18-year catalog

01:15she'd perform, but she did reveal she's been reworking

01:17the set list to make sure the performance

01:19is memorable and monumental.

01:21The set list was the biggest challenge.

01:24That was the hardest, hardest part.

01:26According to the artist, the performance will be

01:28a celebration of her catalog in the best way.

01:32I think we did a pretty good job at narrowing it down.
