A 37-year-old Texas man is asking for $17.31 for his date's ticket after she allegedly used her phone during the screening.

00:11Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 director James Gunn jokingly weighed in Tuesday on the report

00:16of a bizarre lawsuit coming out of Texas concerning someone texting during his film.

00:21A petition was filed in small claims court last Thursday in Travis County, which is located

00:25in South Central Texas, the Statesman reported.

00:28According to the newspaper, Brandon Vesemar of Austin is asking for the price of the

00:33ticket, $17.31, for a 3D showing of the Guardians sequel.

00:38His suit is filed against an unidentified 35-year-old woman who was allegedly texting during the

00:43film.

00:44The couple met online and were on a first and were, just guessing here, last date, the

00:48Statesman reported.

00:50Vesemar claims the woman checked her phone numerous times during the film and responded

00:54to text messages.

00:56The woman was contacted by the newspaper for comment and was shocked Vesemar had filed

01:00a suit.

01:01Meanwhile, Gunn, who is an avid tweeter, saw the report and just had to chime in.
