Syria is still shaped by one of the world’s largest displacement crises. Millions were forced to leave their homes.  But amid the many troubles the newly liberated country faces is Amr, who made the difficult choice to return from Canada.

00:00Amr Yakan made the hard decision to leave a secure life in Canada and return to Syria.
00:15Amr is just one of around a million Syrian exiles who came back after almost 14 years of civil war.
00:28The challenges for Syria are immense. Volatile security, massive internal displacement, and a severe economic crisis.
00:46To this day, much of Aleppo is still in ruins. Amr wants to rebuild the mosque his ancestors founded.
00:58Amr is difficult in the new Syria, but Amr firmly believes it's the right decision for him.
