00:00I know this dress has particular significance. Tell us how it came together.

00:03Yes, my great-grandmother migrated from Texas to Los Angeles in 1917.

00:09Two years later, she found herself in a portrait studio and she took a picture with a garment.

00:14That is a humbler version of this.

00:16And so I gave that to my friends at Prada and they did a bedazzled version.

00:20So I'm really grateful to them because I get to salute her tonight.

00:24How does this moment feel to have this theme going, particularly with where we are in the country?

00:28You know what? Black Dandyism is about self-expression no matter who's looking.

00:32And so while this is really, really lovely and it's going to be fun and family inside,

00:37I think the core of the theme is it really doesn't matter because we're going to show up and show out no matter what.
